Description
Under Construction! I worked on this for at least one year in 2014 and most of 2015, construction commenced two months ago or so in Eastern Texas. This was designed as a retirement home on a lake front lot, in a quiet backwoods setting. Huge covered deck in back with outdoor fireplace and screen porch, large garage, walk-out basement. Roofline is complex and difficult: object was to give the house a classic bungalow appearance and scale to front, but essentially hide the huge low-pitch roof to the rear which covers the back deck and blends into the house. We want the front to have an agreeable scale.Technical: Floor Plan and rear elevation are pencil drawings, 3D model also by me, all combined graphically through transparencies in GIMP software and labeled. I want the 3D Model to look a bit like my own drawings and maybe like classic architectural renderings of the late 19th to early 20th centuries.
I design homes, do concept art and illustration, draw castles, and more.

A lovely take on the classic craftsman. But why for the reduction of attic space? I would have thought that a more complicated roof more expensive.

Well we have a vaulted roof over great rm, so no real usable attic there, and very low-pitch roofs over both sides, so just access to services like HVAC there. First plans considered one bedroom up, but we nixed it and built a huge basement instead.

I love this, as well as most of your designs out of curiosity, are you an architect? I am, from Spain, and I wish I could design this kind of things ^^

I have to call my self a "residential designer" (house design) because I practice without an architecture degree, but basically, yes, I am an architectural designer and illustrator.

Ok I see, anyway I think your designs are awesome, and thats what matters
Most of my colleagues (and myself) are unable to draw like that despite our having a degree or whatever!! You're really talented, thats what I try to say ^_^
I'm sure you'll enjoy your visit to Spain, we have some beautiful architecture here also, food is great XD
