Description
We all know pretty much who Lightning Rider is, from positive to negative qualities in-character, but when he's "discorded", I envisioned him as being egotistical, proud, fearless, maybe a little selfish, but all because of independence. Although honestly, I really don't see him being too evil as much as how the aura of this art gives.
Example of one advantageous thing I can see from him, where we know that not-discorded Lightning easily gets anxious and loses self-control, discorded Lightning is more restraint, and can easily prepare himself both physically and mentally during every pressure that approaches. And with his special talent of fast flying, he can be able to make the absolute use of it.
And also a little change of his appearance just to make him look intimidating. .u.
EDIT:
And another thing I forgot to add. Discorded Lightning has this sense of humor that he likes to confuse, or maybe even tease other ponies with his petty jokes, whereas the real Lightning Rider doesn't do that because he is more honest and sincere with his feelings. So you'd see him grinning a lot from this point. x)

I can describe my reaction to this artwork of Lightning Rider in one word...YEEESH!

Sarcastic and witty, definitely fits the confident, reckless attitude of Discoreded Lightning.
As for Mercury, since you told me he likes to stay outside and spend time with friends, I'd think he'd get reclusive and shut himself up inside his home, feeling like nobody wants him around or cares about him.

Has anyone ever mentioned that your water-droplet effects look amazing? .u. 'Cause they do. They really do ouo Also the subtle glow effect around the eye is stunning too! The mane being whipped up by the wind is amazing as well. All-around this is an astonishingly beautiful and impressive work!
I can maybe imagine him coming up with the crazy idea of intentionally being switched to this version whenever he has a task that he's too nervous to do? Who knows, that might make his life a bit easier xD

This looks awesome, just epic.
The lightning looks great, and I like the fact you included it with "Lightning Rider", good one.
Cool effect with his eye, as it appears to kind of glow, that's neat.
Oh, and the rain, that is absolutely astounding. You did really well, making it appear to roll off his fur as it hits.
Also, the shading looks nice too, especially combined with the lighting the lightning produces, the combination works very well together.
I noticed you made his mane look a bit more like hair, I really, really like that.
Overall, great job! This is quite a captivating picture and really shows off Lightning's dark side.

trust me, it doesn't need to be a wacom, i use a genius tablet, they are a lot more accesible and SERIOUSLY, everything is about practice, you should save money and get one XD
who knows, you could unleash your creativity with a tablet.... seriously recomended!
and one more thing.... what happened with all the nice pokemon drawings, eh XD? i'm talking about the traditional ones, i really enjoyed your work :'D!

when i used mouse i felt like blocked.... slow and blocked in the creative way, with a tablet you can go crazy and make any kind of addition to the drawing in the last moment, it is really funny XD

Well, yeah, in a way, using the mouse feels limited, and I know how using a tablet feels, at least in my mind lol x3 But I'm looking forward to be able to draw more quickly, yeah =3
And digital art is just so easy to color, and you can pretty do much of anything with it. I have to agree x3 And for me, traditional can be useful, but when I'm feeling like just sketching x3
