The buttercup garden...it was his most favorite place in the whole entire castle, a place his mother knew the pouting prince would be at. She had heard him and his father arguing again, perhaps on the fact that the prince had once again failed to live up to his responsibility of arriving to the meeting on time. Well, mother knew best and there was the prince laying among the flowers enjoying the warmth of the sun. "I thought I would find you here my little cutie pie" she said causing the prince to sit up in surprise only to smile shyly at his mother "Mother must you really call me that....". "Yes I must! You are my son after all! And I'll remind every little lady friend that comes by here!" She says as she starts to pepper the prince's face with kisses "mother!!"he yelps childishly only to fall into laughter hugging his mother. "I missed you so much...." He kisses his mother on the forehead as he said those words "I was only gone for 5 days dear at the kingdom of the the west" his mother smiles. Her smile though doesn't last, it was soon replaced with concern "and I see you can't stand your father for those 5 days". The prince cheerful attitude now change to sulking "so.....you heard me and father..its just. I don't understand how he can be so stuck up! I mean I was only late by 15 mins and they barely ever talk about anything interesting. Sure they talk about trades and the conditions of the kingdoms, but after that its just meaningless conversation!". His mother grew worried once the prince continue to ramble on about his distaste for those schedule meeting, she had to think of something and quick. Her attention was drawn to the flowers that they were sitting on and an idea popped up. "Sweety" she ask "Do you know why those meetings are important?". The prince gave a small huff before replying "I suppose your going to tell its to teach me how to rule a kingdom and help me gain experience....just like what father said right?". "That is true, but there is another reason dear" she picks up one of the flowers "do you remember who gave us these?". "Yes, the king of the west, Asgore's Kingdom. He gave it to us as a gift for helping to defeat some rebels causing trouble in his kingdom...and I guessing those meetings helped right?" The prince replied. "No dear, back then those meetings didn't exisit...your father as well as those two other kings rarely ever got together dear, they may had traded with each other..but they never really knew each other" the prince's interest was peeked as his mother continued " At the time King Asgore was just a prince and was running the kingdom all by himself. He was actually afraid to ask for help from your father and King Levia because he didn't want them to think lowly of him. However when the rebellion became to much for the young prince he came to your father personal to ask for help. You should had seen him dear, he was all by himself, the guards that were with him initially perished in journey here, and him, he was all battered and bruised from being attack by the thieves that hide in the mountainous region...". "Your father felt so guilty for the condition of Asgore and his Kingdom." "But why? Father didn't do anything." The prince interrupted "your right he didn't his mother continued " and that is what bothered him sweety..A strong king protects his people yes, but he also goes to the aid to others...since then, your father put in place these meetings in order that we not only learn of each others kingdoms, but to be acquainted to one another and grow to trust one another". With that the prince's mother turn to him and very seriously said " one day sweety me and your father won't be here and you will be responsible to take the throne...me and your father trust you, but what will the others think of you? Will they take you seriously if you can't take a simple gathering seriously?". The prince bowed his head a bit realizing the whole point of his mothers story "I...I suppose I should apologize to father.." His mother smiles at him "I believe that would be a good start". The prince hugged his mother tightly nuzzling her neck and affectionally said "I love you mother"
