It looks like the city is expanding toward your position as the buildings look to be alot newer than the ones in the background.

You are right, the buildings in the background are the historical center of the city that is UNESCO world heritage. The castle is right in the middle of the town, so there are many parts that you can't see in the picture.

Nice Shot....I really enjoyed Salzburg the only time I have been there. I went for the WORLD SUPERBIKE race several years ago. The Track is located near the town. But enjoyed the stay, food and people. I looking forward to taking my kids there maybe later this year. Thanks for sharing

Eigentlich ist "dieser" Platz da noch recht klein und überschaubar
Sind zwar recht viele Häuser, doch man kann noch locker alles bis zum Horizont
überschauen. Einige andere Städte dagegen machen das unmöglich, auch ohne
Millionenmetropolen zu sein
