What a spectacular photo. I've been working on a couple different filters I'm still trying to create an Hdr/Painterly look and couldn't resist trying one of them out on your photo. Great view! Although maybe it is just my imagination but it appears there is lot of dead trees on the slope below? Reminds me of some parts of California right now.

You are right, the trees near the treeline are having a hard life fighting snow, storms and lightning strike. Those that are lower will green in a few weeks.

Well as long as bounce back that's okay. Around here we have a lot of trees that are succumbing to the drought and various invasive burrowing beetles. So the hills are filled with dry fuel waiting to burn.
