Description
There is nothing more powerful than the sound and sight of a wild mustang at full gallop. The thundering hooves kicking up a cloud of dust. The massive muscles bulging through the Chestnut coat as he breaks into a turn. It's a moment in time worth capturing.Wild horses still roam no less than 18 states in North America today.
Drawn with h, hb 2b, and 4b pencil on Strathmore series 400 medium surface paper. I did not clock time drawn. I work on and off for apprx 2 days.

(I used to spend hours drawing horses in my early teens. (used to "go riding"). Spent all of my pocket money on horse books. Never this good mind. Don't think I'd know where to start now

Galloping Mustang for me was one of those happy surprises when you're done and you stand back and say "I did that?" For me the capture of his gallop and the glean of his coat became the spirit of the drawing.
