For this outing I set the ISO on automatic and locked the shutter speed to 100th of a second. The higher ISO sometimes leaves the capture grainy, but allows shooting without a tripod. At other times, I will lock the ISO at 100 and use a tripod. Used a standard UV filter, nothing else. All the color and contrast are present in the original scene as captured, albeit enhanced through post processing.
