Description This is a gift to all of my friends and watchers here on dA! You guys are awesome!

This script is based on the Technica scripts, but uses the "edisc" variation. So you WILL NEED THE "EDISC" PLUGIN. The above animation (kind of small) was made using this script and then applying a bipolar final transform that was moved around.

Remember: I'm always here to help.

EDIT: I've uploaded a new preview image, that better portrays the script.

Sorry for the dum questions, but I just downloaded the plugins you mention, and I have two questions:
1. Is their exension supposed to be .c? Because they all are: something-or-other.c
2. What is the right folder for Plugins? Inside Apophysis I have "apo202src", "Parameters" and "Scripts".
Sorry. I did warn they were dum questions...
Thanks.

Please disregard the previous message, that was even more dum than I thought.
I found your tutorial for installing the Plugins.
I feel so stupid I don't even have words for it. So sorry.

I'm fairly new to Apop, and recently downloaded the Total Scripts Package... marvellous, thank you! It saved me a lot of downloading of individual files and has been fun trying them all out. I have not posted any of my pictures yet but it's in the pipeline.

I have a slight problem with one or two of the scripts and am not sure yet what could be causing it. I've got the plugins; I don't have more than 27 plugins in the plugins folder; I've been viewing the fractals from both Apo 2.07 and the 3D hack (to check it wasn't that sort of incompatibility) and the Apo programs are in the same folder as the plugins folder...

... the problem being that with certain scripts (such as eTech and Bipolar Oscillations), if I end up with a design I like, I might save it and come back to it later... only to find a dot in the middle of a blank screen. The triangles are in the same positions, but there doesn't seem to be much data (if any) on the final transform.

It's not a big deal as there's plenty of fun to be had with the other scripts, but I would feel better if I knew it wasn't something like a corrupted file (I reinstalled the 3D hack but it made no difference).

Any ideas welcome.

I was able to get these flames back -- there's a short explanation underneath one of the recovered ones here . Such a relief.

2 questions....
1 what extras do we need to have on apophysis to run this script and get the desired effects? whenever i run either script my flame turns into tiny dots =[
2 i don't have an installation folder for my apophysis, its just the program itself, so how do i make a plugins folder for that?

CabinTom In reply to AngelLover89 [2008-05-07 12:24:38 +0000 UTC]

You'll need the edisc plugin.

I believe that if you go over to sourceforge.net you can search for Apophysis and find a download for version 2.02, which will install all the folders you need.

AngelLover89 In reply to CabinTom [2008-05-07 21:32:02 +0000 UTC]

grr, stupid smiley. Well anyhow I searched Apophysis 2.02 and then viewed all the older packages from that file until I found the 2.02 directory.

CabinTom In reply to AngelLover89 [2008-05-09 12:02:53 +0000 UTC]

If you haven't found it yet try downloading 2.02 here: [link] the .exe is an installer that should give you all of the files you need.

AngelLover89 In reply to CabinTom [2008-05-12 21:27:31 +0000 UTC]

Kk, so I got the folders and all. Now I went to [link] to get the plugins, cuz I googled "edisc script" and a dA News article said to get the .bin file, and i did....but the files are all .dll, and they won't come up under Scripts when I select Open Script... from Apophysis's toolbar.
=[
i appreciate the help, btw... i just hope i'm not doing something completely different.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CabinTom In reply to AngelLover89 [2008-05-13 12:29:28 +0000 UTC]

Grab the other file (not the .bin). I'm fairly sure the .bin is for people who want to develop there own variations, the .zip file will have the plugins in the format you need.

AngelLover89 In reply to CabinTom [2008-05-13 22:06:07 +0000 UTC]

the extensions of the .src.zip file are just .c
i didn't see a single .asc file in there =[

[link] ackage_id=139828 theres the page i'm on, but which 2.02 version contains the folders? All that comes with the download on all the version 2.02s is just the .exe and the .rars don't contain folders, just a bunch of random files =[

I have a question, too. When I get the plugin pack, where do I put them so they'll work? I know dumb question, but I don't have a clue.

Thanks

I have the plugin and put it in the proper folder but it's still not showing up. I'm using the 2.06 3D Hack version, does it work with that?

CabinTom In reply to Sunny-77 [2008-04-14 12:56:02 +0000 UTC]

It should. Do any plugins show up?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sunny-77 In reply to CabinTom [2008-04-14 15:47:30 +0000 UTC]

At first I had too many plugins and kept getting an error message and read that I couldn't have more than 30 plugins in my folder so I created a extras folder and keep the others there. When I put this plugin in the correct folder, no, it didn't show up. This technical stuff isn't my strong suit at all, Tom. Sorrry. Any suggestions could open my brain to trying something new to get it going. P.S. While I do see a few of the plugins in my variations, I still don't see others, not just this one.

Make sure the Apo program you are using is located in the same folder as the plugins-folder. If it's not a shortcut to the program located in the Apo folder, that might explain the problem. (I hope I explained myself just now...)

there is another small issue with the 3D version
first i did not have any flame showing up at all. i tried the 2.07 beta and it worked fine. so i looked at you script. Both variations had the linear3D variation still active so i deactivated them with linear3D := 0 in the script which now worked perfectly.
I'm kinda confused that *Sunny-77 got results with the linear3D variation.
Maybe you could have a look at it but i works nice now

I'm so confused as to why I can't get the plugins to show- I followed the tut to the "T" and even tired following what some of the other's did, but they don't show. Any ideas what else I could try?

Practice. (I'm not lying... I've been trying to make a tutorial for the script so that it is easier to get nice results -like the preview- but I am a bit out of practice so it's taking me longer to figure out how to make the tutorial... so I guess you may also be missing a tutorial to follow. )
