"Dad? What's that, up there? It's like it's watching us from the viaducts!" Sparrow could feel himself being to tremble slightly as he felt some sort of creature watching him from all corners.
"That?" Ratchet paused for a moment's deliberation "That's a Nephyrn. They guard Kojima, Sparrow. They're the sole reason that Hiroko is in power. He's the only creature who can control them."
Sparrow watched the creature as it tilted it's head back and let out an eery cry , almost as if in mourning for being controlled by such a dictator. The young cream tom urged it to let out another, wondering if he could hear it's cry once more. The creature's eye turned to the cat, staring him down. It simply ducked it's head, almost as if nodding, and caterwauled once more.
