Description
Retro nostalgia Marion from Double Dragon.When we were teenagers we dreamed of being strong, overcoming our problems with power, and fighting hordes of bad guys with our fists to rescue our sweetheart was a recurring fantasy.
I poured a lot of money and time on this arcade and the home ports.
That´s one of the reasons I started practicing martial arts. Karate, then Taekwondo.
There is little left for me to say about double dragon that I haven´t written on my "double plumbers" pic description.
I like how her big fluffy hair and her thick eyebrows scream 80s fashion. I didn´t want to put a jacket on her, since the jacket is the updated design from double dragon neon. I was going for a mixture between 80´s Marion and the more recent one. In the game sprites she is Brunette. In the game story, the pics and the game art, she is shown as blond.
I had a blast working on this pic.
No need for a bacstory, it´s already written. It´s my High definition interpretation of my pixelated memories.

Great job on a classic video game damsel! Of all the problems with the Double Dragon movie, the biggest was they got Alyssa Milano to play Marion, but then cut her hair off and eliminated any hint of her as a damsel in distress! Heresy!

at some point I thought about adding a crotchrope, but it would have made her skirt ride upwards. In the end it was not necessary.

I´ve been working on my hair texture lately (also on my skin tones 
Hair is maybe 4 or five layers.
Flat base color
I start laying the darker shadow areas .
Then a slightly less dark tone of hair strands that I smudge with a small brush tip.
Then the area highlights also smudged in the direction and flow of the hair strands
Then a layer with a fine brush tip for individual golden hair strands
I adjust the hue and saturation, the contrast and brightness on each layer individually until it satisfies me.
Finally a layer for global light and reflections.
It is a mixture of hard work and knowing some photoshop tricks to make it easier. Mostly learned from various tutorials here in D.A. and most of it is made on pure instinct until it feels right.

I remember the Double Dragon arcade theme the most. That song would play at the title screen and then through the demo when nobody was playing the game. Every time I'd walk in the arcade I'd hear that song and immediately know that they had at least one game that I was excited to play. When you beat the game with two players, you have to fight the other at the end. I always imagined that the brother who loses the fight was the real leader of the gang, and needed you to help him kill the boss so that he could take it over. I used to mercilessly slaughter many an ally during that end game twist.
