Description And so I waited in the library, knowing that he would come. Why was I? I'm in a few of his classes, and Master Eraqus had asked me to do it myself. I needed to get to the bottom of this. I mean, Dark Keybladers? What the hell was that about?

Soon I was proven to be right in the aspect that he would come. The black-haired, non-biological twin to Sora made his way over. He didn't even notice me until I called his name.

"Vanitas." I said, catching his attention. He turned and smirked.

"Hello Myca." He said, pleasure dripping off his smooth voice. The corner of my mouth twitched into a frown. I walked closer to him, so much that our noses were almost touching.

"Well, it seems that we're on opposite sides, but going to the same school. Tell me, what is it with this whole 'Dark Keybladers' thing?" I asked in a hiss.

"Right to the point, as always." He said with a sigh. "Who asked you to ask?"

"No one. I'm asking out of pure curiosity. Are we enemies or not?" I asked.

We appeared to be in a sharp face off, both of us growling low. Our hands twitched at our sides, trying not to summon our keyblades and fight right then and there. The tension nearly made us both ready to attack anything that moved.

"Why do you want to know?" He said fiercely.

"I need to know. If we're enemies, why hold back now?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Valid point. But even I don't know." He replied.

"Vanitas…" I pressed, a glare forming on my face.

"Myca, all I know is that it's for the ones who have a connection to the dark more than the light."

"Bull crap." I responded. His eyes lit in a heated glare.

"You…! You belong to the light! How could YOU know what it's like to have been in the darkness for so long?! This is a place that's promising to take me in- whether or not my heart's dark!" He nearly screamed. I was glad that no one else was in the library.

"You're right. I don't. But if you show control over your darkness, then you could just as well be a part of our place as Riku or Terra." I said in a normal tone.

"Like you even care!"

He summoned his keyblade. It was massive and mechanical with an eye on it like Riku's. He raised it to strike. I didn't summon mine or anything. I wanted to see what he would do. If he was going to hit me or not would determine my next thought process, and possibly the view I have on him. He stopped in mid strike as he realized that I wouldn't defend.

"Why won't you take up your keyblade?" He asked.

"Because I don't want to harm you." I said. "Yes, it really is that simple." I then added, reading his expression.

"You… You're something else. Everyone else would-"

"I'm not everyone." I said, shaking my hair off my shoulders.

"I guess I have to be thankful for that." He mumbled.

He let his keyblade disappear, then turned to face me with an expression of almost distress as creatures seemed to crawl the walls and appear in front of us.

"Here's your chance. Prove that you mean to accomplish something similar to us and the Dark Keybladers may not get such a bad mark." I summoned my keyblade.

"I can't promise anything." Vanitas said, summoning his keyblade, "We look at things differently."

"That's perfectly fine," I said, "but prove to me that we aren't enemies."

He smirked, "But doesn't that make everything more interesting?"

"Just be quiet and fight these things, what ever they are."

"You mean business as usual." He sighed as we took out the creatures.

****

"Any idea what those were?" I asked once they were all gone.

"Unversed. A by-product of negative feelings around me."

"What?" My eyes widened after I let my keyblade disappear.

"You heard me."

"… What can you do with them?"

"I can't."

I looked at him for a moment before I let out a snort. "Can't do anything my ass. You have some control, right?"

"No. I don't. I've never been able to control them, and I never will." He sounded almost disheartened at the statement.

"Well, is there something that the Dark Keybladers have that lets you control them?"

He looked at me for a second before shaking his head, then running a hand through his hair.

"No. There isn't anything but the possibility that I get stronger and no one will notice them."

"Vanitas, you can't be serious."

"I am. It's my only option."

I couldn't believe half of what I was hearing. How was it that he dealt with this all the time? How long has he been a keyblader?

"I… Uh… I'm sorry. I really don't know what else to say." I sighed.

"So you actually do care, huh. Never thought that would happen." He said with a slight tilt of the head and a smirk. I hit him on the shoulder, hard.

"Don't get too used to it." I said, "We still need to settle some things."

"Right, right." He said, raising his hands as we backed from each other.

We basically had to discuss what our Masters had asked us to. Dark vs. Light stuff, stuff about the heartless and nobodies, stuff about what would happen if one of our groups had a falling out.

"Basically, we'd transfer over to your organization. I can't say the same for you." He said.

"Really?" I said with a tilt of the head, "then what would happen to us if we had to join with you?"

"You couldn't. You'd have to be an organization without a master."

"Well…. We wouldn't be without a master, so to say." I said. His eyes widened. "Aqua. She took the Master Qualification Exam a while back. She passed. She's the one who trains me, remember?"

"That's… Not good." He mumbled.

"Your intentions were…?"

"That's not good. Eraqus is almost as old as my master, and she's new. She won't know the ropes to things like formal stuff, and for all she knows, she might get herself killed. And like I said, Eraqus is an old fart. I don't know how much longer he'll be alive."

I narrowed my eyes. "Alright, I'll pass your warnings to them."

"No need. Everything's still going to go wrong tonight."

My eyes widened.

"How?" I asked.

"I don't know." He answered bluntly, "All I know is that everything's going to change at the midnight confrontation. Whatever that means."

"… That sounds like a book title." I mumbled. He laughed and I stifled a giggle. "But, I wanted to ask, how many are in the Dark Keybladers?"

"Just me."

"Why just you?"

"Terra and Riku were accepted by the light. I wasn't."

"Have you tried?" I asked.
