You let out a long sigh and was fiddling with you hair on your couch. You glanced at your phone on the table, hoping that someone would text you or call you to break the boredom you had right now. Well, you usually had something to do with your boyfriend of four years, Lovino Vargas… but now he was not with you.

He was, like, avoiding you for a week. You didn’t know what happen but you didn’t want to judge him right away. Maybe he had some problems in his family or something. You were always like that. You never quickly judge somebody that it also gave you disadvantages. One example, you had been deceived once. You were buying something for Lovino’s birthday present. They told you to pay first and to meet up with them in a café. And so you did that and waited for them in the said café. You waited pass midday and the seller hadn’t come. You thought yourself, may be the seller had an obstacle on the way. However, even until 7 p.m. the seller didn’t come. You told your friend the story and just realized you had been deceived.

Maybe someone called you innocent but others also called you stupid. You never thought about bad things in people, especially when you first met them. That’s why you can be Lovino’s girlfriend. Lovino was famous for his bad mouth and his rudeness towards people. He rarely or maybe never smiled in front of people, even… no, especially in front of his brother, Feliciano.

You met him when you went to Feli’s house for a group assignment. When you got there, Lovino gave a very unwelcome attitude to you and just went to his room, locking himself until you went home. Feli told you not to think about his brother that much for he always did that to every person he met. You agreed and didn’t really think about it.
You had gone to Feli’s house several times and grown a crush on Lovino. Actually, the reason you went to his house was to see Lovino. Long story short, you found that he also loved you and that was when you became his girlfriend.
Back you your current situation, you played with your phone, hoping that Eliza or Lily or Bella would call you to hang out with them. But no… no one texted or called you until afternoon. How you hated that day. One day of your weekend was wasted and there was Sunday left for you.

After dinner, you cleaned up. A while after that, you went to your room and throw yourself on the bed, hugging your fluffy pillow. Just when you were about to go to dreamland, your phone rang. That’s a song for messages, you thought.

You took your phone and looked at the screen. One text from Lovino.

You quickly sat and opened the message, ‘(name), are you free tomorrow? If you are, meet me at the park at 2 p.m. Tell me if you can or not.’

Your heart fluttered with happiness when you read it. Finally, Lovino wanted to meet you. Finally you could be with him after a week without him. You squealed like a fangirl for a while before you texted him back, ‘Of course, I can, Lovi! See you at the park!’ and you sent it. You put your phone and covered yourself with blanket and slept happily~

It was 12 now. You’re too excited to meet your love. And everything was done like magic today. You cleaned your house in shorter time than always, you were able to do your laundry faster than always and now you were eating your lunch while imagining your meeting with Lovino. It would be something so dramatic after a week without meeting…

You look at your clock, 1 p.m. you quickly ate your lunch and cleaned up. You went to your room and changed to something red and yellow, the color that Lovino liked. Then you went to the park.

The park was not that far that you had to go early, but you want to repeat your first date again. It was at the same park you went to meet up with him. You went early so you wouldn’t be late. You arrived earlier than you expected that time and waited for him. One thing you couldn’t forget was when Lovino arrived, he had that panicked face, thinking that he was the one who was late. You chuckled as you imagined how his face was that time.
You hummed as you walked. The smile on your face never fell as you approached the said park. You slowed your step to scan the area and you found the man in the middle of the park near a fountain. He was wearing… his brown uniform? That’s rather strange for Lovino to be like that. He usually wore something even more relax than you were. And another thing caught your eyes. Before him was a girl about his height in blue uniform just like Feliciano’s. You couldn’t see her face since her back was at you. They seemed to talk cheerfully.

Your heart hurt at the sight. You didn’t know what but it was like something stabbed you. Well, remember that you never judge something quickly? You were trying to do that now. Your mind looked for any reason he might had for having that girl with him. After some seconds searching, you assured yourself that the girl was just one of his friend or a stranger who asked for direction. Yes, that had to be it. Then you looked at them again. Now that girl held his hands and he was blushing. You didn’t stop staring at them and slowly but surely walked to a tree nearby, to hide in the shade.

The girl was like so active by herself, laughing at him and jumped slightly as she told something to Lovino. Lovino was just standing still and cursed sometimes, but he still had that red shade on his face. You were really curious with what they were talking about, but you had a feeling that if you just butt in, that’s going to be awkward.

You looked at your phone, 30 minutes until the said time. Then you looked at them again. And now your eyes widened at the scene. The girl who was holding his hands and talked to him like there’s no tomorrow, gave him a kiss on his cheeks AND a quick kiss on the lips! Lovino let out a long swearing after that but he looked like he was embarrassed too. That was the time when your high hopes were ruined in seconds. Now you really thought you were stupid. You didn’t notice his actions to avoid you… how stupid you were…

You unconsciously took some steps out from the shade and just stood there watching him bid his goodbye to the girl. You brought your hands to your chest to ease the pain you had. But there’s no use of it. Fresh tears rolled down you cheeks and didn’t seem to stop right now. What will you do now?

~ Lovino’s POV~

After I bid goodbye to her, I looked at the park’s standing clock. It’s just minutes until I met (name) again. I was nervous. I decided to tell her today of all day. I knew I had been avoiding her lately so I wanted to make up those times today. I reached my pocket and fiddled with the small box. I also wanted to tell her one other thing…

I sighed and turned my sight from the clock. That was when I caught (name) was standing there. She was just standing there. We locked eyes and… and I saw tears from her eyes. God what made her cry? In an instant she turned her body and ran. Something clicked in my head. She must be seeing me with Felicia earlier and thought I was cheating on her!! I quickly chased her and grabbed her wrist, that’s enough to stop her. “(name)! Please wait! I’ll explain it! You’ve got it wrong!”

(name) turned her body and looked at me with teary eyes.

“Explain? There’s no need for explanation. I’m not so stupid to understand what happened earlier, Lovino. You cheat one me and that is the truth!” (name) said with anger in her voice.

I’d never seen her angry like this… not even once…

“Wait! You have to listen to me. That girl earlier is-“

“Is what?! A beautiful stranger who asked for direction? I don’t think so. I saw what happened with my own eyes, Lovino! She kissed you! You don’t have to lie to me. You also think I’m stupid for not judging everything quickly, right? You used that so I won’t think anything bad about you,” she said continuously. She was not giving me a chance to talk. Now I knew how hurt her heart was.

As I didn’t speak anything to defend myself, she continued, “And.. and about that girl… she… s-she is…” (name) looked down, covering her face with her hands as she sobbed. She couldn’t hold it again. Those pains she felt… she wanted to release it…

I could not stand seeing her like this. I couldn’t stand her tears. I slowly removed her hands from her face and held it tightly in mine, “(name)… bella, please look at me…”
She still didn’t lifted her face so I knelt in front of her just to see her face, “(name)… I’m sorry to let you see what happened earlier… That girl before is one of my cousins, Felicia. She was just helping me. There’s nothing between us.”

She sobbed and said something but I couldn’t hear it, “(name)… there’s no fucking way I will cheat on you. Please trust me.”

I looked expectantly at her face. She gave a slight nod and that made me relieved.

“And now, I- I have something to… to tell you, (name).”

Oh god, why did I stutter like this at a time like this? Okay… just calmed down and told her what in my mind.

You waited what he wanted to tell you. You saw him reached his pocket and pulled out a small beautiful red box and opened it before you, revealing the prettiest ring you had ever seen.

“(name), you are the most wonderful girl I’ve ever met. Your smile and your laugh brighten my day and what I need is your existence besides me to complete my life, so… will you marry me?”

Your mouth gapped as he said every word. You couldn’t believe it… Your boyfriend of four years proposed you! You couldn’t be happier. You hugged him tightly and smiled was plastered on your face.

“Yes! Of course, yes, Lovi!”

You smiled but you cried more. You cried tears of happiness. He kissed you and put his forehead on yours.
