Description
watching the flickeringspastic shattering
neverending series of
color
slide so quickly across
away
there are words
so many words
words i once knew
words i once knew to use
flashing so swiftly
to the rhythm of a song
i no longer understand
my eyes slide out of focus
muscles falling slack
the loose comfortable ache of
seeing
without
seeing
as i instinctively
focus
focus
focus
focus
focus
and try so hard to read
the letters before me.
a few words stand
alone,
plucked so senselessly from the mess of text
strewn wide
and then snatched away
poison
pain
jealousy
destruction
defeats
weakness
selfishness
something not needed
and i think to myself
still dazed and unfocused
that
is what i am.
