Description fish girls asking a sword girl to save them. this has an actual back story but i'll just leave it at that.
the amount of conventionally pretty girls i draw is shameful and boring so i'm definitely going to try to change it up in the future it's just a matter of breaking the habit at this point
i worked hard on making sure the value composition in this was really strong, i hope that shows!

Sure thing! I just typed it out for Yazuho so I hope you don't mind me copying it and pasting it.

Here's the backstory:
The girl with the sword,  Odilia Dupre (Oddi), is a descendant of a great Acadian witch hunter, Evelyn Peyroux, who settled in the swampy areas of Louisiana during The Expulsion of Acadians (in case you don't know North American history well, that's when the French settlers of what is now Nova Scotia were forced out by the British).  Evelyn banished most witches to a state of pure insanity by taking away their physical bodies and powers.  The body-less witches often possessed the nearby wildlife of Louisiana hoping to regain the strength necessary to get revenge one day. 125 years after Evelyn's death, the witches in the area are re-emerging more powerful and monstrous than ever and Oddi is the one who has to deal with them.

Here's the specifics on this picture:
Mermaids are asking for help because their queen is being manipulated and mislead by a witch. Every time a witch hunter is given a mission a new weapon spawns to help them complete the task, which is why Oddi has that sword. If you look behind the mermaids you'll see Evelyn's gravestone along with some old weapons that she spawned and the tree next to her grave has some witches trapped in it.

And that's the gist of it! I hope that satisfies your curiosity!

It does ! That's a great story ! It's not often I hear stories about acadian people (I'm not acadian but i'm really interested in history of France and America) ! Are you going to write a novel or a graphic novel ? Cause you should totally do, your style is great !

Yeah acadian history is pretty interesting but not often talked about.  Every time i think of a story i think of it as graphic novel but i'll probably never actually do it cause graphic novels take so much time to make. Thanks for the interest!

You seem to have a really good grasp of being able to make conventional pretty girls while still giving them each a personality and none of them look like they could be mistaken for the same girl. Each is still very distinct
I don't think you'll have much trouble moving into unconventional and your coloring is absolutely lovely!
