Description
You play pinballand I'm delighted by
the intensity of your expression
which I thought was reserved for me,
but in truth,
I'm flattered to hold your attention
just as much as
levers and flashing lights
without trying nearly as hard
as an arcade contraption.

Heh. I guess my equivalent would be the Pinball Construction Set for the old Apple IIe's. We bought it, and between my perverse sense of fair play and a good friend's artistic instincts, we concocted some really clever pinball games. I say this with no humility, since we tried others that stank on toast, but there were three masterpieces. One, for example, used an English pub theme, with the handlebar mustache of the titular character hiding the flippers. And the pint of ale was actually the ball-catcher. And so on. Creating them was addictive, and playing even more so because we designed them to be challenging but not entirely impossible...with room to strategize.

That sounds amazing, and slightly like an old game I used to play with my siblings--every played The Incredible Machine?

Hmm...no, I don't think I even heard of it. I wonder if Good Old Games would carry it...

I hear of them! Then again, I also remember a lot of really old games, some of them by really old companies.
