Chapter 3
*3rd pov*
Two Pokemon Pinchers stood directly in front of a mysterious monument. One of them held up his Control Gauntlet and engulfed a section of it in purple energy rings. The moment the Pincher lowered his gauntlet a strange glowing symbol appeared. The Pincher quickly smashed the rock and took something. He then turned to the other Pincher.
"We got the Emblem!" The Pincher happily said.
Before either of them could do anything, Ukulele Pichu ran into the cavern and began to furiously yell at them.
*Ukulele Pichu's pov*
"Where are my friends!?!?!?" I furiously demanded/shouted. The two humans just looked at me in confusion. Its as if they don't understand me.
"Wh-what's it doing?" One of them questioned. The other on then approached me.
"You shouldn't interfere with people's work." He said, his voice full of annoyance.
Before either of them could make a move, I quickly latched onto the one that approached me.
"Whoa! What?" The human questioned.
"This is for my friends!!" I shouted, still holding onto the human.
"Going to give a shock, huh? Like I'd let you! This is what you get!!" The man maliciously said.
He then proceeded to grab and yank me off of him before throwing me to the ground. When I hit the ground, I ended up landing on my back. At the same time, I also heard something break. I quickly got up and looked to see my now broken ukulele.
"Eh!?" I said in shock. I immediately felt tears gather at the edges of my eyes. 'M-m.....My......My ukulele........' I helplessly thought.
"Aw....." I heard the other human mocked. "Broke its little ukulele, huh? You are quite a villain."
I then felt a surge of anger and fury bubble up inside me. I quickly turned to face the two wicked humans and furiously glared at them.
"How do ya like them pineapples!?" The man that threw me mocked. "Arrogant little pokemon. Trying to get a piece of me. No good will come of capturing you."
I only continued to angrily glare as well as began growling at them.
"Stop looking at me. Get out of here!" He shouted.
"Pichu!" I heard someone call. Then Ralph and that nice Ranger girl quickly appeared.
"What the heck did you do to Ukulele Pichu!?" The Ranger questioned. She looked as angry as I felt.
"It can't be! A Pokemon Ranger?" The other wicked human exclaimed. "What were those guards doing, anyway?"
"Answer the question!" She demanded. They were silent in response.
"Poor Pichu!" Ralph said upon noticing my broken ukulele. "Pichu's ukulele is broken."
I then looked at my broken treasure with sadness. "My wonderful treasure........" I sadly said.
Ralph then turned to the two wicked humans looking quite angry. "I'm sure these two bad guys broke it."
"Well whatever could you be talking about~?" The other wicked man questioned, feigning innocence. "Hey partner.....Get the Z.Z. Flyers ready. I can handle these brats on my own."
His partner nodded his head in agreement then quickly left as the other lifted his arm with a strange device and shouted. "Cranidos! Give them a taste of headbutt!"
*(Y/n)'s pov*
As soon as the Pokemon Pincher held up his Control Gauntlet a Cranidos came running and comically ended up headbutting the other Pincher who could only say "ouch" before actually leaving.
"Not him, you dolt!" The Pincher shouted at the poor pokemon then pointed at me. "You're opponent is the Pokemon Ranger!"
"Man, harsh much?" I questioned aloud. He just shot me an angry glare as he then commanded the Cranidos to charge at me.
I quickly lifted my Capture Styler and aimed for the Cranidos. "Capture on!"
It only took me a few seconds but I freed the poor pokemon from the Pincher's control.
"Now that I think about it, there wasn't any real reason to fight." The other Pincher stated. "We've already got what we wanted."
"Yeah, right! Sore loser!" Ralph commented before turning to Ukulele Pichu. "Cheer up, Pichu! The Ranger taught the bad guys who broke your ukulele a lesson!"
"Pichu....." Ukulele Pichu said.
"Humph. If we have the Emblem, there's no reason to hang around." The other Pincher stated. "Smell ya later, Ranger!"
They then quickly flew away on their Z.Z. Flyers only to bump into another Pincher.
"Eeek! Watch it!" She shouted.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" The other Pincher angrily shouted. "And did you forget? You're supposed to be luring Raikou away from here!"
"Don't get mad at me! You ran into me!" The female Pincher shouted. "It seemed like there was a commotion around the monument, so I came here to see what was going."
"Which means......" The third trailed off. "Raikou is?"
Immediately after the third Pincher finished, we all heard lowly growling sounds. I quickly scanned the area in attempts to find the pokemon who was making them. That's when I spotted it. A very large pokemon who looked very furious.
"Raikou...." I quietly said in slight awe.
"Grrr.......Roooooaaaarrrr!!" It roared out before quickly jumping in the middle of the trio of Pinchers leaving only bolts of lightning behind.
"Oh no! Run!!" The female shouted in panic as all three of them quickly fled.
Raikou let out another mighty roar before quickly chasing after them. That only left me, Ralph, and Ukulele Pichu in the cavern.
"Wasn't that the legendary pokemon Raikou just now?" Ralph questioned.
"Yeah it was......" I said still in awe and now slight disbelief.
"I can't believe we met Raikou!" Ralph shouted in excitement. "That was really lucky!"
"Pi.....chu......" Ukulele Pichu miserably said as it longingly stared at its now broken instrument.
"Pichu' ukulele was broken." Ralph stated.
Suddenly Pichu perked up, grabbed its broken ukulele and hastily ran off. "Pichuuuu!"
"Wait! Pichu!" Ralph called out, only to be ignored. "I wonder where Pichu went?"
"I don't know but I think it would be best to follow." I said as I turned to leave but was stopped when Arley appeared.
"Those disrespectful simpletons." He angrily said as he stared at the now vandalized monument. "I thought they were only investigating the monument."
Ralph and I both looked to the monument then back to Arley.
"Hey, Arley." Ralph called. "What was written on the monument, anyway?"
"I can't read it, because it was written in letters from long ago, but I've heard that something about Raikou was written on it." He replied.
"Do you think the writing has something to do with that story, "Raikou and the Hero of Oblivia?"" Ralph questioned.
"Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't." Arley answered. "That's not something I would know."
"I'm sure it does!" Ralph said in complete confidence. "I heard about that legend from Booker."
Ralph then turned to me. "(Y/n)! Thank you for driving off the Pinchers! Thanks to you, Arley didn't have to overdo it chasing those dangerous bad guys. I already know what Rangers say at a time like this! That was an excellent mission clear, Ranger!"
"Well you're not wrong there." I mused as I did my Ranger pose. Suddenly my Styler began to speak.
"Congratulations on the Mission Clear!" The Voice Nav. said.
"Well, then." Arley began. "Why don't we head back to Cocona Village? There should be another exit if you go around the corner ahead."
"Sounds like a plan." I said as we all made our way out of the cave and forwards Cocona Village.

"Rub this medicine on your wounds, and they will heal very soon." A doctor instructed an elderly man. "Please take care of yourself."
"Thank you, Dr. Edward." The elderly man thanked. "Having you here is a huge help to us."
"Dr. Edward. How have you been?" Arlen questioned as he and his two other companions arrived at the village.
"Why hello there, Arley." The doctor greeted. "You're looking as muscular as ever. I'm surprised that you keep training at your age." He then noticed the boy, Ralph, and the young Ranger, (Y/n), standing beside Arley. "By the way who is this young person with you?" He asked gesturing to the Pokemon Ranger.
"This is (Y/n), a Pokemon Ranger." Ralph stated with a smile on his face.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Edward." The doctor warmly greeted. "I take care of the sick and injured villagers all over Oblivia."
"Is someone not feeling well?" Arley questioned.
"I can still hardly believe it, even though I saw it with my own eyes, but the truth is........" The elderly man stated. "The Great Raikou was charging through the village. At the last second, I swiftly dodged Raikou's charge, but I got this scrape."
"Stop spinnin' lies, you." An elderly woman demanded. "He was so surprised by Raikou's charge that his legs gave out. He only fell."
'Raikou came through here?' (Y/n) mentally questioned. 'Why?'
"More importantly, dear, when you saw the Great Raikou, was the Hero of Oblivia riding it?" The elderly woman asked.
"Come, now, you two. No need to argue." A man said in attempt to quell any arguments that could arise. Then the elderly couple turned to face the man. "I'm just so happy that I had a chance to see the Great Raikou. ♪A deep, deep valley blocks the way. If you can cross, go ahead, I say. The scary likes to brag, "No one can cross my rocky crags!" What nonsense speaks the silly valley? For Great Raikou, it's just one bound. Hero on its back, just one bound.♪" The man sang.
"Nice song." (Y/n) commented.
"Thanks. I sang that all the time when I was little, because I wanted to meet Raikou." The man explained. "Oh that's right. It looked like Raikou was chasing those UFOs. Rake looked really agitated."
'It has to be because of the Pokemon Pinchers.' (Y/n) mentally reasoned.
"Sorry to interrupt the fun, but......" Arley said. This caused everyone to face him. "I need to talk with Dr. Edward. Feats of strength are my strong point. but my back has been hurting recently. Could you take a look at it?"
"That's troubling." Dr. Edward said. "Okay, I'll examine you."
"Thank you for your help, Pokemon Ranger." Arlen said as he faced (Y/n).
"No problem!" (Y/n) happily replied. "Whenever someone needs help I'll be there. It's my job after all."
"Arley is really strong, but he's way older than you would think, so......." Ralph stated. "Oops! I said it again! Arlen, I'm sorry! I hope you feel better soon."
Arley and Dr. Edward then left without word.
"Do you think Arley was mad?" Ralph innocently asked. "By the way.......Did anyone see a Pichu with a broken ukulele on its back?"
Everyone then turned towards the young Ranger and little boy. Some looking a bit confused at the proposed question.
"I just saw that Pichu." The elderly man said. "It was running toward Booker's house."
"What? Really?" Ralph questioned the elderly man. "I'm worried about Pichu! Do you think it might be hurt? (Y/n)! Let's go see!"
*(Y/n)'s pov*
Ralph and I quickly made our way back to Booker's house to see if indeed Ukulele Pichu was there. When we entered Booker's house, we saw Ukulele Pichu desperately crying with its broken ukulele in front of it. Booker and Nick were just standing there slightly confused as well as saddened/angered by the sight of crying Ukulele Pichu.
"Pichu! Pichu! Pichu!" Ukulele Pichu cried out while frantically jumping up and down.
"All right. All right already." Booker said, trying to calm down the frantic pokemon. "I've got it, so just calm down a little bit."
"What's the problem Booker?" I asked as I approached both Booker and Nick.
"Oh, (Y/n)! I've been so worried about you." Booker exclaimed when he realized that I was here.
"Booker!" Ralph called. "They broke Pichu's ukulele!"
"Pichu!" Ukulele Pichu shouted.
"I see that." Booker stated, clearly angry and maybe slightly annoyed. "Pichu's been askin' me to fix it."
"You can fix it, can't you?" Ralph innocently asked.
"I'd love to fix right away." Booker stated. "But you need material with straight grain to fix that ukulele. It's hard to find and only available on Dolce Island. I hid it in a tricky place......"
"I can go get it for you." Nick suddenly said. "Since everybody seems to be occupied...."
"You should really be occupied helpin' me build boats......" Booker commented. "But I'll leave it to you, Nick. The material that can fix the ukulele is hid in a hollow tree trunk."
"I got it!" Nick happily said. "But if I see that bad bunch on Dolce Island, and I get caught because of my bad luck and get bound with ropes a smidgeon on the tight side...."
"Another one your daydreams, or should I say "day nightmares," huh?" Booker commented, looking slightly exasperated. He then turned to me. "(Y/n), will you help him? I'd be too worried to send Nick alone."
"I'm sure I'l be just fine......" Nick said. "Except that.......It's not a bad idea to go with a Pokemon Ranger. Will you come with me?"
"Yeah, sure. Its no problem." I happily said with a smile. Internally, however, I was complaining. Curse me and moral values.
"Outside this house is a pier. There's a fisherman there who uses one of my boats. Ask him and he'll take you to Dolce Island." Booker explained.
"I'll be waiting with Pichu." Ralph.
"Alright, ready to go Nick?" I questioned the nervous said person.
"As I'll ever be." He replied.
"Super, let's go!" I enthusiastically said.
~~TimeSkip!!~~
"I'd never thought I'd be back here again." I offhandedly commented. "Well at least not soon anyway."
"We better start looking for that material now that we're here." Nick said.
"Right." I stated. "Let's get going."
It honestly didn't take long for us to reach our target.
"That must be the tree trunk was talking about!" Nick happily exclaimed. "I'll go get it. Just wait and watch my back. If there's a horrible trap inside the trunk, and the trap turns out to be some sticky odd fluid, and I touch it out of curiosity with my toe despite my gut instinct......What am I doing? I started thinking negative again."
"Yeah, you seem to do that a lot." I commented while slightly chuckling.
"What's required here is not imagination, but.......The ability to jump! Here you go!" Nick said as he began to run and then quickly jumped into a rather large and hollow tree trunk. "How did you like my jump? Wasn't it something?"
"Oh yes, very impressive." I teasingly mocked.
"Let's see.....Where is the material to fix the ukulele....?" Nick offhandedly said. "Here it is! Ranger, I found it......Huh?"
"I have a name you know." I quietly muttered before calling out to him. "What's wrong Nick?"
"What am I feeling around my feet? Rather rough......." I heard him say to himself. "Arrrgh!!"
"Nick!? What's wrong!? Come on, speak to me buddy!" I frantically questioned.
Nick then jumped from the tree trunk looking frantic/terrified. He was immediately followed by maybe at least six Sunkern then we were both quickly surrounded by the group of angry pokemon.
"I'm so sorry!" Nick apologized. "I didn't mean to do that!"
"What did you do exactly!?" I frantically asked.
"I don't even know!" Nick desperately exclaimed. Then the angry pokemon began to immediately attack.
I quickly pushed Nick behind me and held up my Capture Styler and shouted. "Capture on!!"
The battle ended as quickly as it had started. It was relatively easy to calm them cause they were just annoyed that Nick had woken them up from their little nap. So note to self: do not wake up napping Sunkern.
"Phew......I'm glad they finally calmed down." Nick exasperatedly said in relief. "It seems I steeped on them while they were taking a nap in the tree trunk."
"Well that explains why they came after you when you jumped out of the tree."
"Sunkern.....Sorry to disrupt your nap." Nick apologized to the now calmed pokemon. The Sunken then scurried away. Probably to find a more peaceful napping area or something. "That sure seemed like a life or death adventure for me! I'm glad we've got the material to fix the ukulele. If I carry it, though, it might take up all my attention, and I may not talk much, which could cause tension between you and me....I'd certainly want to avoid that. Ranger, will you carry it for me?"
"Sure and you can call me (Y/n) you know." I answered.
"O-okay, and here." Nick said slightly blushing before handing me the material. "let's go back to the boss's house. I'm sure we'll see Pichu's happy face."
"Yeah and maybe I might be able to take a nap too." I said as we began heading back to where the fisherman had dropped us off. Hopefully he was still there.
