Description Marpissa Muscosa (Jumping Spider)

One of these spiders came along my desk and I caught it in a glass (quite hard - they are quick as hell) and studied it. Impressive animals. Their front legs make them look like a scorpion without a tail.
Well I decided to model it ^^
Nothing special actually... I didnt even use textures and it took me about 3 hours.

Cinema 4D R9

Ok tell us the truth, that spidey was radioactive and you are wearing a red and blue suit?

I always love spiders,

You CAUGHT one to study it?
To be honest, those jumping spiders always manage to freak me out, since they are so damn fast and unpredictable in their movements.
But you did a really impressive job on the modelling. Very detailed and realistic - especially in such a short time.

Wow, that's friggin amazing. o_o The eyes look a bit weird, kinda like they're not on the spider? But otherwise this is gaspworthy, kinda like... a photo... yah. +fav.

love it D

great details. just great. As usual, your work fascinates me.

Just a minor detail: the name should be Marpissa muscosa (First name first letter Capitalized, second not, italic or underlined). thats the biological way to write species names. or so i was told

i'd fav this one, but then i'd have to fav every one of your pieces...so i need a criteria.

The bug itself could foor me into thinking its real initially, the ground looks quite flat in start contrast. But at 23 min rendering at this point fiddling would be a real *edited*.

I like it

I'm thinking about getting into 3D modeling and animation someday. What software would you recommend investing in?

Since I am a Cinema 4D user i suggest Cinema 4D
I think Maya is a pretty nice program as well but I didn't try it out yet.
