Description There MUST be grammatical/spelling errors riddled throughout... sorry about those, and I don't intend on fixing them because this was done on a paint program and I'd have to move EVERYTHING.

And the blocks of text. I go on and on and on and on....

Enjoy :]

Very interesting to look at. Also very interesting to see into your head. I love the design of the ink in general. I do have a qualm though. Unfortunately despite your foresight, his left arm still gets a tad lost in his wing. Other than that. Good show, jolly good show.

Thanks! And I appreciate the honest feedback. Looking back, I completely understand what you mean about the arm. My style's changed a lot now XD

This is a good tutorial. I kind of disliked that you were saying be careful be neat and then said you were not . You should have said what kind of pencil, and by that I mean HB and the hard ones because the soft ones smudge more easily. Great insight of what happens when you set of on designing a tribal, and by the way awesome gallery, xept for some of the pokemanz

I didnΒ΄t think IΒ΄d find a tutorial for "tribalizing " something. I know it isnΒ΄t as easy as it looks sometimes and I think itΒ΄s also hard to explain because like you said u just feel it,there are not many rules to hold on.one really special thing about tribals.I tried often and I had some succes but most of time there never comes out what I imagined..I may have not much ideas for the lines or am scared to go too abstract with a pattern...I donΒ΄t know but for sure your tutorial helped me a bit further.really nice job.thank you

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Canyx In reply to Tropicanine [2009-10-28 22:02:16 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad it helped! This is going to sound super cliche, but never be afraid of getting too abstract (just draw many versions of it and see which ends up best)!

And as with any other skill, practice makes perfect. There are actually some designs in my gallery that I can't replicate again because my style is constantly evolving.

Also, feel free to ask other people for their constructive criticism. What I love most about tattoo art is seeing each artist's individual style! Keep at it ; )

Tropicanine In reply to Canyx [2009-10-29 15:49:13 +0000 UTC]

thank you for this friendly reply.Yea I should not be so afraid to "destroy the outlines" for another pattern or detail.IΒ΄m practising hard but I donΒ΄t think IΒ΄ll ever be as good as you are lol. I may upload some tribal stuff when I got the time to do some,I may be not that good yet but u can watch me back if you like,iΒ΄d be glad ^^

Canyx In reply to Tropicanine [2009-10-29 19:35:00 +0000 UTC]

Pish posh, It's not about being 'as good as me' but developing your own style, I think ; )
You might also want to look at some of 's and 's stuff... They're style is really unique too. And I look forward to seeing yours!
