too weird! I was in Cheyenne, WY yesterday, & Big Boy # 4004 is in permanent display in the park! I took a few photos, of course

That time will come. Union Pacific has chosen the Big Boy 4014 for restoration, and improvements, so that it'll be back in service. In 2016 we will see it run again.

Actually, Big Boy holds the hauling and power record for the steam locos.
The steam loco speed record (203 km/h (126 mph) is held by LNER Class A4 'Mallard' steam locomotive... It's the blue one, with the aerodynamical shape - example photos here on dA : [link] or [link] ...
