Nah, I like it better than acrylics personally. I think it has all the best elements of acrylics and watercolors. This painting is gouache too: [link]

Yeah everyone's final is specific to their major in that class, so I had to do an illustration since that was my major. The color wheel is a little tedious but I kept mine because it is a great tool if you want to work with gouache later, you get really familiar with how the colors mix.
