Description
This was for my 2D Fundamentals in Design class. Was nice of my professor to let me do it digitally, since my printer's out of ink and such...might put it into scraps if people are off-put by an actual roach in my gallery. =w=;Onion and art © me
Actual cockroach reference © ...uh, I should look into that. Found it on Google search.
edit: I DID NOT DRAW THE REALISTIC ROACH. It's just an example for the purposes of the study.

Hehe I like the Abstract version and have you thought about drawing Onion based on that supposed myth about roaches being able to survive a nuclear blast?

You mean like having her in the Fallout universe? That could be sorta fun.

Not quite. More like Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Chernobyl, or Fukushima.
And yeah that would be kind of fun to see something with Onion enjoying herself while her friends are in some sort of underground shelter.

Hm...theoretically, Onion would be one of the few walking the wastes/ruins.

Yeah that's true and she'll also find mushrooms growing to bigger sizes since back in 1991 fungi was found growing in one of the areas inside one of the adjacent buildings to where the reactor number 4 was in at the Chynobl

Thank you. The stylized one's basically traced, though.

Well, yeah, I get that YOU didn't draw it. I thought that just meant you were using a picture that someone else drew. I didn't realize that it was literally a photograph of a cockroach.

I'm not very squeamish on cockroaches, but for some reason my older sister and my older brother are extremely afraid of them.

Aye...even Manila looks like who dun it at times. Funnily enough, I changed Onion's back story country of origin to a pacific archipelago like the Philippines instead of a desert country such as India after doing some research and finding out most cockroaches are tropical insects. The sex industry aspect's still applicable in terms of parallel cultures, though. (I'm pinoy as well, though I'm a filthy half-breed and in the US. XD )

Oh cool! I'm pinoy all the way (but I got an eighth of Spaniard and an eighth of Chinese a little bit more so it counts as a 75% on the filipino) but I got a displaced voice and accent so I sound American to anyone, even Katherine from Spicyy Ramen said that I sound "very white"

Haha, I see. I honestly don't know what I sound like to others, at least not clear cut. (Nanay's half Filipino, quarter Chinese, quarter Japanese; Dad's half Scottish, half Italian. 'Halfer' may not be as appropriate as 'Heinz 57' :U )

ThePunkDective In reply to CappuccinoSquid [2015-09-10 01:32:40 +0000 UTC]
That would make you 25% Filipino, 25% Scottish, 25% Italian, 12.5% Chinese, and 12.5% Japanese

CappuccinoSquid In reply to ThePunkDective [2015-09-13 07:38:48 +0000 UTC]
Aye, significantly less Filipino when broken down like that, but I like to think being raised predominantly by a Filipino single mother skews me more in that direction. XD
I really don't know much about my Italian and Scottish roots, now that I think about it...only thing that comes to mind is that we were, uh...something to do with the Tailor and Macintosh family names? Then we were adopted into the Clarks or something, I forget.

It's just like a telenovela
My Mom is the Love child of a rich family's daughter and the car driver, she was kept hidden and put up for adoption, then the mother of a local celebrity takes her in.
Later on in life she meets my dad who back then was a pretty decent guy... was.
My sister was born, my brother was born a year later, but I was born several years later making me have a huge age gap. I was also born different from the other children (displaced voice and accent) and I never really had friends in my childhood.
My dad cheats on my Mom and kicks out my Brother for getting married (so far it's been a long and successful marriage) so me, my Mom, and my Sister leave him and we've moved from city to city for almost a decade making me have no permanent friends (not like anyone wanted to talk to me anyway) and no permanent school.

Oh it gets deeper...
Before my 16th birthday, I asked my Mom jokingly if my dad was with my dad, but the answer that you gave me was totally unexpected.
You see over the past few years, my Mom told me a man in Canada was helping us out in our financial crisis, she said he was an "old friend" but on that day I found out he was my father! And suddenly it all makes perfect sense, I look nothing like my dad, my brother and sister looked a little different to because I'm the half-brother.
Now my life has gone full telenovela!
