Some of you may remember my team Power Rangers Spirit Surge. Well this is what happens when you're working on a fanfic and an idea grabs you by throat and won't let go.

And yeah, this is for the most part a helmet and pallet swap... but there's a reason for it I promise.

Here's the deal:

In order to awaken their zords, the spirit surge rangers must leave town and travel to their ancestral homes across the world on a quest to prove themselves to their house... for some this isn't a trip they're looking forward to. While they're gone, Leeford is left unprotected and Commander Tethomi takes it as his chance to deal a tactical psychological blow. Capture the town and subjugate the population, breaking their will and forcing the rangers to cave to his demands. Unwilling to let the town fall, Liliya, Mikhail's cousin, uses her skills in the Wild Arts to become the second Green Gorilla Ranger.

When its looks she can't do it alone, the remaining four houses of the Wild Arts each send a representative, and temporarily imbue them with the power to morph. With the exception of Liliya the auxiliary rangers aren't able to hold their morphed forms for long, and the more they use them the quicker their powers will fade to nothing. It's a race against time, not only for the main team to awaken their zords, but for their replacements to do their jobs before their powers fail them.
