Nicola stopped complaining as soon as her vocal chords had turned to wood. It wouldn't be long now for her whole body to complete its metamorphosis from animal to vegetable. Once this had happened the remnants of her clothes would be removed and she would be replanted somehwere in her new master's estate where she could grow in peaceful tranquility.
