OK, I haven't update my DA gallery in like FOREVER! xoIt's been like, what? 8 months?!

Anywho, I thought I color a few old pictures. This is from a group of sketches I did back in November 2007 (after Youmacon 2007), inspired by 's Sonic NextGen calendars. I would have scanned them and colored them sooner, but when my Mom died in February of 08, I just didn't have the will to work on them.
This one features Rico in action.
And would you know, for the first time ever... I USED MY PEN TABLET FOR THE LINEART! YAY!!
But not in PhotoShop! The Lineart was done using PaintTool SAI. Everything esle was done in PhotoShop, and I used my tablet for the shadowing and highlights, too! ;3
I also tried out some new ideas for coloring, such as adding more shiney highlights, and a texture. gave me the idea.
So I really should pat myself on the back for this one. Now I'll will say, the lineart still looks shitty, since I don't have steady hands, but I like how this came out, since it bring out how I utilize my tablet. Although I don't like how the highlights came out for the light source for the light saber.

The pose, the colors and everything in general looks really neat! The letters on the back are a nice touch

this might be one of your most stunning works I've seen o__o
the whole picture is so filled with energy on a balanced way and it's awesome. you really get the feel of the action in this picture very well. it might have something to do with the thick lineart, I'm not sure. at any rate the lights, sparkles and shadows are just amazing! the whole pose is also very amazing, it's creative , original and full of life.
I think you did an amazing job even if the concept isn't original. you manipulated it in a great way. I think it's good that you started using your pen tablet, or in a way you had your own very unique style that came from your hard perfect lines by the pen tool. but I think you have a lot more potential this way. and I'm sure you can develope a new creative unique style with this too. I'm glad to see some art from you again :3
