You stared out the window and watched as the scenery went by. You rested your head in your hand and sighed. There was still a long way to go until you were back home. You busied yourself by running your free hand through the soft hair of the boy’s head currently in your lap.

You weren't sure why but every time there was a mission that required traveling sting would plop his head straight into your lap and sleep through the whole entire thing. It scared you the first few times. Your heart thundered in your chest the entire way and you wondered if he could hear it. You always wondered about his senses what could he hear, what could he smell. You glanced down at him arms folded over his chest and knees over the arm of the seat. Lector slept curled up on his stomach.

Rouge wasn't here however, Frosch wasn't feeling too well so he stayed home to look after the small exceed.

The train was moderately empty. There were a few people here and there but currently no one was in the train car with you. You sighed and started to drift off then there was a sudden screech and you along with everyone else was sent flying. All three of you slammed into the other set of chairs.

“Owowowow” You whined as you slowly sat up.

“What the hell.” Sting mumbled as he slowly stood up.

“Are you okay Sting-kun?” Lector being light enough landed on the cushion seats across from them.

“I’m fine, why are we stopped.” Sting looked out the window.

“We apologize for the sudden unscheduled stop; there is a small problem with the transmission that we are working on immediately. Please for your safety stay inside the train cars. Once again we apologize for this inconvenience.” The announcer’s voice was smooth and steady as she spoke.

Your head hurt really badly. You put your hand to your left temple and pulled back to reveal stains of blood.

“Hey (Name),”Sting looked over to you and saw the line of blood slowly moving down your face. He moved to you kneeled down and grabbed your face.

“Ah Sting.” You tried to back up and turn away but he held your face securely.

“What did you do this time?” He mumbled. He grabbed your chin and made you look down while he looked for the cut. Your face was bright red and you couldn’t tell if it was from the embarrassment of getting injured so pathetically or the blush from his hands on you and his face so close to you.

“(Name) what happened?” Lector peeked over from behind your head.

You just stared down to embarrassed to answer. Suddenly Sting stood up.

“Look after her Lector I’m gonna go get something to clean up this blood.” He said and shut the car door behind him. You just looked down though and wrapped your arms around your knees.

“Its okay (Name), Sting-kun will be back soon.” Lector padded your head

You only nodded your head. Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes.

“(Name)” Lector moved into your lap.

“It’s okay Lector, it just hurts a lot.” You tried to laugh, you weren’t sure why you were crying but you couldn’t stop. Lector quietly stroked your hair. It was quiet for the next few minutes until the car door opened and Sting kneeled down in front of you.

He grabbed your chin and forced you to look up at him. He said nothing though, as he poured water out of a bottle and on to a napkin and cleaned the nearly dried blood.

“It’s all I could fine but we’ll get someone to look at it later?” he said this devoid of emotion. His eyes spoke of worry though as they concentrated on the red stains.

“It’s fine Sting. I’ll live.” You glanced down again. Too embarrassed to keep his gaze.

“I know” he grumbled. You glanced up and saw just a tint of pink misted over his cheeks.

“Besides I know Lector will come save me anytime.” You turned to look at the now shocked cat.

“O-Of course me and Sting will always come to save you.” He beamed at the two of you.

Sting just puffed out a laugh and continued cleaning up the blood. After a few minutes more, he stopped. That’s as good as I’m gonna get it here.” He said standing up. Holding out a hand you took it gently but were pulled up quite roughly and collided into Sting’s chest. It was only then did the train lurch forward and the announcers voice reappeared.

“We have solved the problem with the transmission and will continue on our route. We would once again like to apologize for the brief interruption and any inconvenience that came with it.”

“Brief? We’ve been here forever.” Lector whined.

You looked up to Sting who paled at the slow movement. He being a dragon slayer and all this was normal but his appearance still worried you.

“Sting why don’t you lay down again.” You pulled against him to the seats put before you could plop down he flipped you so that now you were sprawled out across his chest and his arms wrapped around you.

“You should get some sleep too; you nearly fell asleep before the stop.” He mumbled into your hair as he readjusted himself to a more comfortable position.

Embarrassed and face now redder then before. “How did you know that?”

“Your heart beat slowed down.” That made sense you guessed. People tend to be peaceful when they sleep, that also answered your question about hearing things.

“Is that why you always curl up into my lap.” You rested your head down. It was directly on the center of his chest and you could hear his heartbeat loud and clear if not a little fast itself.

Sting gave off a victorious smile and Lector took in the image before him. The white dragon slayer and the pretty girl he dragged along with him. Lector quickly jumped across the seats and curled up onto your back. All of three of you stayed like this until your stop. Sting never woke you up though. When the train got to the guild’s town he carried you out and back to his own apartment. Tucking you into his own bed and spending the rest of the night on the couch you gratefully made up for it by making him a sweet ‘thank you’ breakfast and a kiss on the cheek.
