I recently stayed up and finished reading Death Note. Despite knowing how things would end, I have to say... L is the best one. Near and Mello suck. And the ending was meh. So yeah... I think this is how it should end (or how I would end it) instead of Light just dying.

And yes, I wondered why the hell Mikami doesn't just try to write Near's name down again. Come on, even so, he was near enough to the real book to write in it. His hands weren't tied behind his back. And he became a whiner with that line. Really, Death Note stopped being good after L died.

Oh and this of course would work, if you decide to not believe the theory that Near made Mikami his bitch by writing in the real Death Note. And yes, the Death Notes are huge here...
