Loving the plaid hair. Getting bohemian "feels" from this.

Practice practice practice ^-^ I do a little bit...most everyday. Whether it is Avi art, or whether it is developing. Just a little bit each day and your skill will pick up in no time ^-^

I used to think the same thing, but after lots of practice, I am happy where I am today in my work, and progressing each day.
Just never give up, and never loose your dedication and perseverance to continue making your own work something you are proud of.

My honest opinion is this, Your hair work isn't bad for the stage that you are at, however There are other things in your pictures that could use work. Smoothing out the hard angles and edges, smoothing out the pixels to make them look more rounded and natural. Just working on the hair, is a good start, but the whole image is a complete process. If only one part of it looks good it really makes it stand out from the rest of the image, but not in a positive way.

You aren't going to become amazing at this over night, like I said, it has taken me 5-6 years to be able to get where I am with my artwork. That is 5-6 years of referencing tutorials on youtube and here, practicing on a near daily basis, doing contests and free-cheap work for people, looking at image after image of digital paintings, studying, just like you would for anything you want to become great at. You have a talent, it is just a matter of harnessing it and curbing it, training it into what you want it to be. If you give up you won't know what your true potential is, so the only person you are letting down is yourself.

Hair is one of the last things I work on in an image, I make sure the rest of the avi, or image I am working on is exactly how I want it, then I focus on the hair, Adding layers and layers of highlights and low lights, smoothing and blending, highlighting and shadowing again. It is a process, but the more time you spend, and slow down, perfecting your own style, the more you will notice how much better you are becoming. But to become good, like all things it takes practice and practice.
