Description A drawing that I drew nearly two years ago, finally getting its long-time due. Open to interpretation, but my goal was to visually demonstrate the critical endangerment of these beautiful animals, and how quickly they seem to be slipping away in the wild...

As usual, it looks better in real life. My scanner just suffers from the 'washed-out color eating' disorder that seems to plague these appliances like a type of brain damage Β

It's beautiful ... those wavy lines really draw the eye.

The coloring is excellent, too! Especially on the face, concentrated around the eyes and muzzle. Such depth of color!

I love it, the symbolism is quite clear and really sends a message. Β The colors are beautiful, even if the scanner did eat some of it. Β

I have to say, I am a sucker for vivid color...if the contents in my gallery don't state that obvious fact enough Thank you! It was one of my first tries at it, and I'm glad you like the results!

Eyes. Just eyes I LOVE eyes, the more real I can make them look the better. But between them and fur, I have a hard time deciding which is my favorite to color Tails too. They are quite dandy to draw themselves

But thank you very much, I'm glad you think so! It's not often I attempt something like this, so the comment is very encouraging

I'm finding it's actually one of the few pieces in my gallery I can look at and be pleasantly satisfied with (Without grimacing of course Ahh the perfectionist's curse. It runs deep with this one *points to self* ) Now the real question would by why on earth it took me so long to color it! The eight wonder of the world perhapes?

But thank you very much, I'm very glad you like it!

This is amazing! You did a really good job transitioning from the normal drawing to the fading part of it! I think the colors are amazing and the details are too

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CatBeast17 In reply to VexFox [2015-05-24 19:51:58 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! I wasn't sure at first how I should transition the colors from normal to fading (and between you and I and whoever else might read this it was mostly winged anyway...I just drew what I thought might make sense ) But I am satisfied with the overall outcome. That, and I really missed doing something 'serious' traditionally too, so this was a nice bit for me to tackle. That itch is now out of my system! *throws confetti*

And again, thank you for the compliments, they are very much appreciated!

VexFox In reply to CatBeast17 [2015-05-28 02:59:32 +0000 UTC]

No problem Β  Honestly I think half of art is just winging it and hoping it turns out okay xD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CatBeast17 In reply to VexFox [2015-05-29 01:20:29 +0000 UTC]

Well that's my approach to it anyway Β

Occasionally, I'll have a plan, but at some point in it, I alway end up going down a different path that what I originally had in mind...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VexFox In reply to CatBeast17 [2015-05-29 02:34:26 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes I'll plan things out too, but it never turns out how I planned I'll go to draw a portrait, and then I look and I'm like "WHERE DID THE BUTTERFLIES AND HORNS COME FROM. I DID NOT PLAN THAT" xD

Deceitful-Fox [2015-05-23 05:02:10 +0000 UTC]

Wow! Such astounding colour and detail. As always, you excel at traditional art--not that your digital stuff is anything to sniff at. Also, that fading effect is so real-looking! I would be glad to have this on my wall, you know. Truly gallery-grade stuff right here, darling. I am very impressed.Β

CatBeast17 In reply to Deceitful-Fox [2015-05-27 06:58:38 +0000 UTC]

Well, aside from the scanner knocking out most of the finer details, I dare say photoshop is anyone's saving grace when it comes to attempting to redeem back the lost color...I just wish there was a way were people could see what it looks like in real life before Scanner Ah well, thank you either way!

And lol, traditional art will always be my favorite way of doing things. Digital art is just something I do when I'm too lazy to conjure up the focus needed for traditional, seeing as there's no such thing as a backspace button when doing the 'real' thing...

And goodness, that is some high praise there my friend In truth...I kinda winged that whole 'fade' thing...mostly consisted of me just slapping some matching color around...lol. I never really have a precise plan when I do most of my drawings. Most of the time, I tend to go with my gut But that was a might dandy comment there old chap, and I very much appreciate it So I say thank you! And I'm very glad you like it! Β
