Description UF 5

This took way to long to make and even longer to render!

Thanks to *Kattvinge for posting some params I could study!!

The textures in this get to me. Very reminiscent of the Desborough mirror: [link]

Very nice CC seeeee you can get spirals

ccdigitalfx In reply to Fiery-Fire [2009-02-10 00:37:55 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!! I can do spirals, but that seems to be all I can get.

hahahaa..venture out a bit there is tons of tutos out there

I will...BTW I tried your abstract tut and got lost, maybe I need to try again.

you did ooops ..well -I tell you a secret, just open
barnsley formula ...copy the layer 10 times and start
applying different coloring algo on each layer, you will
see how cool that formula is

Thanks for the tip!! I'll have to try that!!

welcome - see the turo is made for people who do masking
soo they can take out the parts of the formula and change
the algo and make masks with textures maybe that's where you
got lost?

I am not real good at masking yet, so maybe that is where I got lost. I am working on masking tho so maybe when I get that part down I will try the tut again.

masking is actually simple -
open gradient toolbar - the 4th bar is called opacity.
when you open the gradient click on the main UF bar at top
and Gradient >> link color and opacity
This way all nodes from RGB will transfer to opacity as well
and then you can pull on the opacity nodes and remove the parts
of the color - look at the fractal image and remove the color
wich you don't wanna see

Wow - It looks really nice Me like a lot It's smooth and jagged all in one piece.

Thank you!! I studied your params on a couple of your pics. Thank you for posting them!! If I have questions on UF can I ask you?

Kattvinge In reply to ccdigitalfx [2009-02-10 01:10:30 +0000 UTC]

If I can answer them - sure go ahead... But trust me... I just do UF because it's fun... and I learned my masking technique from Especially when it comes down to using these neat textures

ccdigitalfx In reply to Kattvinge [2009-02-10 01:38:24 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!! I am just starting to learn UF so I am not sure which formulas make the best textures.

That "grey" stoney texture - play around with it - I'm sure you can find some neat textures there...

Plus - I have a fractal-image called just that "Texture" - where I have a lot of different textures... so if that Texture-fractal is on top when you're working in UF you can drag one of those "textures" I like, over to to a new fractal (from the right)...

Does this make any sense? It's so damn easy when you do it your self but trying to explain - now that's hard...

ccdigitalfx In reply to Kattvinge [2009-02-10 02:00:16 +0000 UTC]

I understand what you mean. So maybe it would be in my best interest to make a "texture fractal" with different textures and save it to use the layers in other fractals.

Yes, Unfortunately I lost a lot of textures during a crash not long ago *ahh the pain* But I'm doing my best trying to regain that little (ehh not so little) texture fractal once again. It's good to have... Ahh, I have such a wonderful one for you... *goes off to post it... (this texture works wonders for a background... you'll see...)... It comes with parameters...

Sorry to hear you had a crash!! That must be terrible. What is the name of the fractal you speak of?

Shit happens - but I can still hear Bruce Willis Sing *lol*

Anyways... the thing you'll be able to play around with is called February Mystic 2 (I just had to post Feb mystic 1 first) I'm a bit anal about such things... but it's coming...
