If Maud knows about the magical properties of rocks, to the point of identifying one that can store the cutie mark magic of several dozen ponies, I’m pretty sure she could identify a crystal that could serve as a focus/prosthetic for Tempest’s horn. It’ll help her with more delicate magical tasks.
Also, fluffy pony ears give me life.

well i just watch a theory about how crystal and gems in MLP already carry some special magic on their own, it just each have different level so some almost harmless and some as we can see like the Crystal Heart or The Alicorn amulet. So see this and I goes like PERFECT now this is good idea for a replacement horn for my sweet girl ~
