Different hand gestures create different attacks, such as fireballs and fire pillars. The flames can only extend 15-20 meters depending on his energy.
  ► Cursing ~ Creates a curse on a person. Takes a lot of energy. Curses are currently limited to disorienting effects. The victim of the curse must be in Marcel's sight and must also be able to hear Marcel's words as he utters the spell.
  ► Elecrokinesis ~ Manipulation of electricity. Marcel can shoot electricity from his staff, it works the same as regular electricity. It also has a range of 15-20 meters depending on his energy.

  ► Transmogrification ~ Transforms things into something else, smaller things are easier. Marcel does not favor using this on himself. Marcel must touch what he is transmogrifying, and the transformation is not permanent. He cannot transmogrify buildings or anything as big as a dragon. Objects are much easier, but he cannot change things into objects with complicated parts. He can change animals or humans into something as big as a dragon, but it takes a lot of energy out of him.

Touching the plants can cause more powerful and quicker effects. Manipulating bigger plants such as trees takes a lot of time, and is not ideal for combat. Marcel, though looked at as evil and ruthless is really a very caring man. He'll often do small things that show this, but if someone points it out, he'll deny it. He doesn't like being looked at as weak, and keeping up a cold, heartless act is the only way he knows how to look strong. He's emotional and troubled, due to his past, and he doesn't know how to deal with it well. He's not overly talkative, but he is very opinionated. If someone is running around thinking that all they do is good and hero-like, he gets bitter about them. He hates anything that makes him feel emotional, but there are some things/people that he'll give in to and deal with, such as Audric. Marcel has a hard time trusting anyone, and it takes a lot to get him to warm up to them, especially if they're a human. He's so used to relying on only himself that he disregards the help of others. He tends to keep a lot about himself locked up, and only speaks openly about a select few of those things. He likes to make people feel guilty for doing stupid things, or making mistakes that lead to someone else getting hurt, because he wants them to know that they've screwed up. He's not afraid to call people out, whether it be lies, ideas that might not be thought through or if he just doesn't agree. He's not very friendly to anyone, but sometimes he will be and it might come as a surprise. He likes to be in control of things, and when he isn't it makes him feel uneasy.

Background:

  As a child, Marcel never knew his parents, or what happened to them, but that didn’t stop him from having a good life and being brought up right. He was raised by all of the creatures of the enchanted forest that he lived in. He was a happy child, full of wonder. He had wings just like other fairies. At the time, humans and magical creatures lived in peace. Marcel loved to visit the humans and learn about them, borrowing books that they’d let him read and then returning to trade them for different ones. Marcel’s favorite stories were fictional, full of romance and heroes. He’d tell the stories that he’d read to the other creatures in the enchanted forest and they’d listen in awe.
    Over the years, new rulers came and went in the human kingdom, as kings died and princes took their places. They became more and more unfriendly toward the creatures of the enchanted forest… The humans wanted power like the creatures did. When Marcel was seventeen, the humans told him he was no longer welcome in their kingdom, not knowing why, or what he did to anger them, Marcel was very upset, but obeyed their orders. The fairy continued to observe from afar, however, and what he saw was constant war.
    Marcel became depressed, knowing his human friends had cut him off, and were going off killing others. One day, the ruler of the neighboring kingdom came to the enchanted forest, with an army behind him. The creatures were happy to see the people who were once their friends, and greeted them with warm hearts. The humans were not looking to be friendly though. They wanted help in destroying their enemies. Being peaceful creatures, the inhabitants of the enchanted forest refused, and so the king dubbed them enemies of his domain. The magical creatures were very confused at this, but Marcel knew to keep a watchful eye.
    At nineteen years old, Marcel had finally been able to put the loss of his human friends behind him. The humans were leaving the enchanted forest alone, and everything continued as it was. Marcel was beginning to get very good with magic, but it was still difficult to control properly. One night, he was awoken by the suffocating smell of smoke. The forest had caught fire, and the humans were attacking. Marcel took it upon himself to try and save as many creatures as he could, succeeding to an extent. The humans ended up shooting him out of the air with a ballista bolt through the wing when he tried to make an escape. He hit the ground, being met by the king and his men.
    “We asked for the enchanted forest’s partnership, and you did not give it to us, making yourselves enemies of the king… Now we’ve been left with no choice but to use force,” said the king; King Stefan. “I ask again, will you join us?”
    Marcel, and many others, though scared, refused and were taken in as prisoners. The humans destroyed the enchanted forest and took most of the land for themselves. They intended to use the creatures of the enchanted forest as weapons, but it wasn’t working out in their favor, so they tried resorting to torture in order to get them to obey. It worked on some. Others obeyed out of fear, like Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. Few continued to fight. Marcel was one of the fighters. He injured many of King Stefan’s soldiers, but never killed them. The soldiers destroyed his wings as punishment, and hurt him in many other ways.
    After weeks of watching his friends die, Marcel began getting angry. He’d been showing mercy, refraining from killing anyone, but he knew that it was a mistake to do so. He realized this much too late. Once the soldiers came to his dungeon cell again, Marcel killed them and attempted to make an escape, but he was weak and got caught again. That was when King Stefan decided that he was done with the dragon fairy, ordering them to tear his wings from his body like a fly and leave him for dead. What they didn’t know was that Marcel had survived.
    Blinded by rage, sadness, and pain Marcel swore to avenge the creatures of the enchanted forest, and get revenge for what the humans did to them and himself. He went into hiding for a while, living in what was said to be an inhabitable place in the ruins of the enchanted forest. Once he was healthy enough to fight, he did. Having figured out how to make himself more powerful, he attacked the kingdom, killing hundreds. Coming to the castle, he discovered that the king had a new child; Prince Audric. Marcel let the king live, just to he could watch him suffer, in a blind rage, he put a curse like inescapable sleep paralysis on the child when he became a certain age. Feeling that humans weren’t capable of true heartbreak, that was the only thing that could stop the curse. The tears of heartbreak.
    Marcel was called a monster now by the lying king, and his arrogant subjects. He was called evil, a murderer, the name Maleficent was something that seemed to have stuck when they spoke of him. Marcel lived alone in a tower made of magic vines and rose bushes, being one of the few surviving creatures from the enchanted forest. Out of boredom, he would sneak around and watch Audric grow up from afar. He began developing empathy for the child, when he learned that his parents didn’t much care for him at all. Marcel began regretting what he did to the kid, but there wasn’t any way to stop the curse unless someone was truly upset about what would become of him. Eventually, the young prince’s parents died, and Marcel decided that he’d try to care for the child, but he was driven away by the three fairies that he once called his friends… The fairies were taking care of Audric, but they weren’t doing a very good job, and by the time the curse had taken its toll, the fairies left the kid like he was nothing. Marcel was heartbroken, and with his very tears, he broke his own curse.
    Marcel took Audric in, but it was difficult for him, though he loved the child very much. He never told Audric of the curse, and lives with the regret of knowing what he did every day. Having a bit of an argument with Audric one day and accidentally breaking something of Audric’s, Marcel locked himself away in his personal library. Reading always seemed to calm his troubled mind. There was one book in particular that didn’t seem to belong. A strange black book. The fairy plucked it from the shelf, and opened it up, hoping for answers, and the next thing he knew, everything familiar to him had disappeared. Almost everything.
