Hoverfly (Flower fly) is known to be a natural guardian of the rose!I hope you'll notice how the hoverfly drinks water along the edge of the rose petal!

Do you think the flies pick up any nectar for food, Cecily? I have never seen one go into the centre of a rose head, but I suppose they could.
