"Kim? Kim!" Duncan ran from his apprentice and locked himself in their base.
"I'm going to kill you Duncan!" Kim yelled as she pounded on the door. "I can't believe you would do this!" She screamed. Her arms and eyes were glowing a bright purple. Duncan let out a nervous chuckle as he slid down the ladder, past the storage level. He heard the door break and watched as bricks tumbled down the ladder.
"Sh*t!" He began rummaging through the chests. He looked back at the ladder and saw Kim glaring at him with bared, sharp teeth. He tripped over his own feet, and landed hard on his back. He stared up at her with wide eyes.
“I hate you!” Kim equipped her master sword and pointed it to his neck. Duncan swallowed hard.
“K-kim?” He leaned up against a chest. “I’m sorr-”
“You don’t get to say sorry, this is unforgivable. I asked everyone for help Rythian, Hannah, Ridgedog, and all this time you were just making it worse!” She stabbed the rapier through his iron armor and into his chest.

Duncan yelled as he woke up. He was drenched in a cold sweat. He wiped his eyes and looked over at Kim as she slept, softly snoring as she did so. His eyes trailed to her arms, where the purple stain of tain glowed and swirled on her skin. He sat up and opened the side table next to his bed. He put on his short grey gloves before picking up the needle next to them. He tapped on the glass and watched as the dark purple liquid began to illuminate. He walked over to Kim and lifted up one of her arms. He scanned it and looked at the red mark on her skin from where he previously punctured her skin. He slid the needle in, and waited as she stirred as usual. He injected the liquid flux and waited to see the results. The glowing tendrils on her arms crawled up to her shoulders and the ones on her face tinged her hair a light purple at the bottom. He took the needle out and placed it back into the drawer and got back into bed.
“I’ll record the results tomorrow.” He yawned as he got back into bed and fell asleep as guilt took over his dreams. Kim fluttered her eyes open.
So that’s how they've been growing.” He glared at Duncan who slept peacefully, for the moment.
