Marty quickly unseathed his sword and swung at her. He cut a thin line across her cheek.
"Kaeyi get back."
"But Martyn, your arms."
"I was ambushed. Now go! I don't want you getting caught up in this." The queen took this opportunity to strike. She grabbed a hold of Martyn's sword. An electric pulse flowed from her hands. She took pleasure in watching Kaeyi's horrified face as Martyn's body twitched and spasmed. He looked at Kaeyi before he hit the ground with a thunk, and Kaeyi stood there mortified.
"That was easier than I thought." I expected some sort of struggle. Kaeyi ran to his side and shook him gently.
"Please. Please get up. Please." Kaeyi's tears evaporated on his skin. There was a slight twitch in his hand. And ice crystals began to form on the floor.
"How is he still breathing? That should have fried his insides." A yellow orb glowed in the queen's hand. Kaeyi stood in front of her as she reached for Martyn. Kaeyi looked over as Toby stood up off the floor. His head pounded and blood ran down the front of his face. Kaeyi reached for the sword in her sheath and found it missing. She cursed at herself.

Toby groaned and held his head, drawing the queen's attention away from Kaeyi.
"I...Is that all you got? A...a...a child could do worse!" Toby stumbled forward. Hi is vision was blurred and he was sure he was going to pass out any minute but it was all he could do to distract her. He picked up his bow from the floor and loaded an arrow. The queen was advancing on him fast. He fiddled with the bow as he tried to aim properly. His vision swayed and darkened but he took aim at the woman charging at him. By the time he could aim it at her she had her hand on his neck. He only saw a blurr of light and he was staring at the floor. He looked up and saw Kaeyi wrestling the queen to the ground.

Kaeyi was on the queen's back and trying to get her away from Toby. She took a glance at Martyn and saw he was on his forearms and clutching his heart. The queen grabbed a hold of her hair and threw her to the floor. Kaeyi grabbed a hold of her wrists before she could touch her with her electrifying hands. She looked over Martyn was still clutching his chest but was doubled over on his feet. He looked up at he and rushed over with his sword in hand. Martyn ignored the excruciating pain in his chest and ran to help her. Martyn took his sword and made a clean cut through the queen's arm. She screamed as loud as she could and stumbled back. She cradled the stump that was her arm.
"I'll...I'll kill you!" She swung at him with her sword grasped in her one good arm. She swung wild and recklessly, and she was determined to kill him. She caught him a couple of times on his shoulders, face, and arms. She was getting tired and Martyn could see it. She stopped to recover and Martyn took his turn to strike. He froze her feet to the floor and cut a deep gash in her right arm, making her drop the sword, and then pointed the sword at her throat. But before he could even talk or negotiate the ice completely consumed her and froze her in place. Martyn looked over a Toby who stumbled around trying to stay conscious.Toby took out a couple of arrows and stabbed them into the ice. The ice cracked and split apart into five different pieces
"I it had to be done. I mean look at what she's done to this city. And Zekkyou's gone and so are many others..." Toby's eyes fluttered shut and he passed out. Kaeyi got up and hugged Martyn tightly.
"Thank you for all this. We couldn't have overthrown the queen by ourselves."
"Thanks for finding me. Toby and I could have been camping while all of you perished." Kaeyi went over to Zekkyou and stared into his blank face. She grabbed his arm and felt for a pulse. There was nothing for a couple of seconds before she felt a faint pulse.
"Martyn! He's still alive! There's a pulse, a very faint pulse." Martyn ran over and picked up Zekkyou.
"I'll see if someone in the town can help me." Kaeyi nodded and went over to help Toby get bandaged up.
"Please get up Toby. Come on." She heard Toby grumble and watched as he propped himself up. "Let's get you into town. We can help you there." It was difficult for her to even get down the hall as Toby swam in and out of consciousness. She was happy when the townspeople came to help them into the medic's home. Kaeyi watch along with Martyn as the medic tried to help Zekkyou and Toby. Martyn suddenly stood up.
"I'm gonna help start with reconstruction. Some of the houses are still broken when guards broke in to steal supplies." Martyn walked into the crowd outside and started helping the Saplings rebuild and recover from the destruction that the queen and her band of guards had done.
