There is something…satisfyingabout seeing the water slip down the sink
fluid which I’ve denied the kettle
expendable, undesired
as it is
not even worthy to boil
I have condemned it to make a tricky way
through taps and pipes and unholy passage
So filthy
So unclean
and in possible danger
at mercy of nature
who isn’t known for her kindness
Yes.
The water is running down those metal keyholes
Unsafe unsound
yet
it seems
somewhat content. Maybe even…happy?
It makes me smile that
I may have a conscience
