Description
Here is the Spring Dragon! He is bringing the blossoms and new life to the world. ^.^ His skin is made of bark and his wings are the new leaves of the season. Left unglazed for natural look.Holy cow you guys! @.@
This one about drove me bonkers but the end result was sooooo worth it!
I bit the bullet and bought a pasta roller just so I could try out a skinner blend for the wings and sooo happy I made the extra effort! ^.^ I had never done it before but I really like it and will have to use more going forward!
Made from polymer clay 3 1/2" tall by 4 1/2" long

Oooh, looking good! I like how you textured his skin to look like bark.
Now I'm looking forward to seeing the summer dragon. *__*

Thank you! I wasn't sure the skin would be obvious in the pictures especially with the watermark over everything >.<
Glad you like it and yeah can't wait to start Summer this weekend! ^.^

Hehe, it did take a little squinting. You might consider brightening up your photos some. The image in the lower-right of this collage is nice and clear, but the main image seems a bit dark in comparison.

Yes lighting is a huge issue for me. I'd like to get some smaller brighter lights that are pretty portable so I can set them up just the way I would like for a good photo.
Right now I am making due with taking photos in my kitchen which is the brightest room >.< LOL!

Ah, I wasn't even thinking about physically improving your lighting situation, though it would certainly help! I was thinking more along the lines of using your image editing program to up the exposure. I'm not sure what you're using, but you've obviously got some sort of image editing capability, or you wouldn't be able to put together collages. If you're using something along the lines of Photoshop, you might want to look into your photo editing options. I usually have to boost the exposure and contrast on my images a bit, because my lighting isn't as bright as I'd like it either.

To be honest I didn't even think about using the collage maker to brighten them (silly me), it's a good idea though perhaps it will help out. Thanks for suggesting it! ^.^ I am fairly sure that what I use will be able to do that as well.
Right now I leave the photos completely untouched except for cropping them. >.<

Yeah, it kind of sucks to have to think about photography when we're primarily crafters, but just a little bit of cleanup/post-processing can go a long way. After all, we want other people to be able to see all the little details we've put into our work, right? :]

Exactly! ^.^ Funny story, when I initially started taking photos of my work I did try some photo touch up to sharpen things up a bit but then I always felt "wrong" about it as if altering the photos was altering how the sculpt actually was so I completely stopped! HAHA! Obviously I know that's not true but I couldn't shake the feeling.
I did try to use the program last night and lightening the photos lightened the brown of his skin so significantly I felt like it wasn't even the same color anymore =/ He's the same awesome chocolate in the photos as he is in reality and I love it.
I am looking into some lights/lamps that are positionable so I can shine them on whatever I am taking photos of. I have also heard of things called "light tents" which I am suuuuper interested in, may try to find a cheap one (or attempt to make one of my own?) since I use a solid white background anyways. ^.^

I have a light tent. It's all right. I actually haven't been using it lately because it's a bit of a hassle to take out and put away. I opted to put some diffusing material over my lamps (tissue paper, lol) and just use them as-is. It works about as well. My pet peeve is that, no matter what, I can't get rid of the harsh light glares on the dragons due to the glossy varnish. I don't know what to do about that. -_-

As lazy as I am (hey at least I admit it LOL) I could see me setting it up on my corner table and leaving it there...
Tissue paper over the lights is a good idea. ^.^ You are so creative.
I don't know about the glare either. I always make sure to at least turn my flash off but shiny spots prevail! LOL

Pasta Rollers are pretty nifty...if you ever have to do clothes they're the best! The blend looks really nice and natural.

Glad it looks natural, I really wasn't sure how many times I needed to roll through so I just did it until I couldn't see the lines anymore ^.^

Thanks! ^.^
I had a lot of fun actually making the twig parts of the wings and learning the skinner blend for the leaves part.
This one's body gave me more trouble then usual though >.< I was thoroughly ready to be done by the sixth hour LOL
