Description
Winter is coming...and this dragon is bringing the ice and snow along.ΒSo, as some deviants suggested, I have decided to make creatures for all the seasons. ^.^ Not sure yet whether or not I will use all dragons or a mix of creatures.
I made Fall Dragon last week so this week it is Winter Dragon! ^.^
He features quartz shards on his back just before his wings and a crystal in front of him as well. If I should decide to sell this piece the crystal he is perched on would be included.
Made from polymer clay 4" tall by 5" long (bit bigger than my usual creatures

My gosh your sculptures are fabulous! The details you put into this one are leaving me in awe, I simply love the wings with the crystals in them, and the pose is enchanting! Your clay is also really smooth, simply fabulous!

Your work is impressive. I especially like the wing's design... very, very creative, it's very clear it's for winter season, and it still looks perfectly like a dragon's wing... <3

Wow, that's quite extraordinary. ^-^ Do you use an armature or just craft completely out of clay? What kind of crystals do you use? Do you adhere them after baking or are they oven-proof?

This guy has a good armature and Swarovski crystals are bake-safe ^.^

My fiance says I need to take a pic of him outside in the sunlight today to show the glitter in the clay. It doesn't show up so well in the photos >.<

FatDragonArtworks In reply to CelestialCreatures [2013-10-20 23:40:19 +0000 UTC]
true, I can see that there's glitter but the sun would really make him sparkle
I really need to get a new photo setup myself....ugh I've been avoiding it!

CelestialCreatures In reply to FatDragonArtworks [2013-10-21 00:49:37 +0000 UTC]
We tried to nab some pics today but it was overcast so no real difference at all LOL
Maybe tomorrow but I wouldn't be able to do it until after work and by then the sun will be going down >.<
My typical photo setting is a piece of white paper placed behind the sculpture in my kitchen which is the brightest room LOL.

yeah, that's what I've been doing but I really need to take pictures mid-day when there's lots of natural light....otherwise everything looks yellowy!
π: 0 β©: 1
CelestialCreatures In reply to FatDragonArtworks [2013-10-21 00:57:49 +0000 UTC]
Yes! I hate the yellowy look I get if it's not naturally also bright outside! >.<
Photos are often more challenging than making the sculpture imo!
