Declaration of War

Author's Note: The following Declaration of War is a made-up scenario. Currently, I'm writing a fictional story where the world over is plagued with demons and creatures the world has never seen the likes of before. With all of man's obsessions with material goods and beliefs, the human race finds itself divided on how to handle the situation. I wish to write a single speech that will hopefully motivate an entire planet to the battle ahead and dissolve their opinions on one another. This is not a speech dedicated to just a certain age but all ages. In other words, its purpose is to try and unify the entire world, much like in the vein of the movie Independence Day, where a war-torn world was unified to repel the alien race.

Friends and family…brothers and sisters…men and women throughout mankind, we are face in a time in our life where the continuous acts of mankind have placed this world into a concerning state. With our desperation for modern science and to enhance our technology, we found ourselves paying the ultimate price for our mistake. Yes, I declare this is our mistake. A mistake that I am willing to bear with you. Even though I may not have been there, when the incident occurred, I know that somewhere along the lines my blindness to realize what my fellow men were up to eluded me. I stand here now, before each and every one of you, in hopes that we can make note that this mistake is for us to bear. With this, we must also accept our fate and realize our mistake. And I do not just speak to those here and now, but to the entire human race. I stand before you to speak the truth to every man, woman and child, that we are faced with a deadly crisis that must be averted.

It has been stated that mankind has the inability to learn from its mistakes and that it shall only repeat the mistakes of the past like a hacked creator reinventing some form of the wheel. But, I stand before you today, hoping that we can correct that fatal error. That mankind will stand together as one unified world no longer repressed by age, education, or gender. No longer will I wish to hear the cries of petty disputes on ones belief. No longer hear the agonizing cries of men quarreling over such petty disputes such as land and money. Money can be made an at endless pace. Land is vast and plenty. But the life of human being is short. Do we really wish to keep up our defenses while these demons pray on the young and the innocent? Do we wish to uphold our stubbornness as humans and not accept the change that has suddenly befallen us? I pray, so help me God, that this world wishes to change.

I am clearly a man not wanting to take the path of war. I despise it as being one of mankind's greatest faults. But, in times such as these, where one is back in a corner and can no longer persuade, then what else is one to do? I am afraid that all is required. That everyone is to come together as one unified race, and battle against these evils. It is as Thomas Paine had wrote. "These are the times that try men's souls." With such difficult times, this could not be any more true. But…be that as it may, when one is challenged then one must stand up and fight! This is our home. Our planet is just one big housing infrastructure. And, much like a house, all of us have our quarrels with one another. We bicker and fight and when we leave the house to go off on our own, we tend to forget that we are all still connecting as one family. Yet, because of our unsettled hearts, we have let our home be demolished and allowed the enemy to take advantage of our weaknesses as a divided race of beings.

So now, I ask of you, let us stand together, not as a nation but as a entire race of beings and rebuild our home. Not only must we rebuild our establishments in a physical sense, but also rebuild our trust within one another. To fix the mistakes of the past and realize that our future is what we make of it. This is what I ask off all of you. To unify and repent this evil that surrounds us. Let us, as one definitive race, be able to overcome our trials and our differences so that we may annihilate the demons that wish to do the same to us. To unify, now and forever, the human race and do repel these creatures from our homes. God bless us all…
