Description Now, I know no one will believe me, but I swear, this was never planned. I intended for this series of pictures to be strictly canonical. Then, I read "the Flea":

    Mark but this flea, and mark in this,

    How little that which thou deniest me is;

    It sucked me first, and now sucks thee,

    And in this flea our two bloods mingled be;

    Thou know’st that this cannot be said

    A sin, nor shame, nor loss of maidenhead,

        Yet this enjoys before it woo,

        And pampered swells with one blood made of two,

        And this, alas, is more than we would do.

    Oh stay, three lives in one flea spare,

    Where we almost, nay more than married are.

    This flea is you and I, and this

    Our mariage bed, and marriage temple is;

    Though parents grudge, and you, w'are met,

    And cloistered in these living walls of jet.

        Though use make you apt to kill me,

        Let not to that, self-murder added be,

        And sacrilege, three sins in killing three.

    Cruel and sudden, hast thou since

    Purpled thy nail, in blood of innocence?

    Wherein could this flea guilty be,

    Except in that drop which it sucked from thee?

    Yet thou triumph’st, and say'st that thou

    Find’st not thy self, nor me the weaker now;

        ’Tis true; then learn how false, fears be:

        Just so much honor, when thou yield’st to me,

        Will waste, as this flea’s death took life from thee.

I love this poem  . The speaker is a cheeky shit who is doing his best to convince his beloved to have sex with him. In the first stanza, he argues that, since the flea has already bitten both of them, it's like they've already had sex. Then, in the second stanza, he argues that, since their blood is mixed inside the flea, it's like they're married, so sex isn't a crime. The beloved gets irritated with him and squashes the flea, despite the speaker's pleas not to, and then he says: I thought that squashing the flea would bring about the end of the relationship, but it didn't, so just as those fears of mine were false, so too are your fears about having sex.

Translation: The speaker is a cheeky, charming shit--who reminded me of my other charming shit: Greed, and thus this became a Greelingfan.

I originally had them drawn in the resturant, but then you couldn't see the poor, squahed flea, so I roomed in, and did a plain colour background. We see here, Greed is trying to charm Lan Fan, who isn't too impressed (but likes the attention, nonetheless)

And, as for Ling . . .

Ling: "I don't know what's worse, that you're in my body and trying to seduce Lan Fan, or that you're using a bug to do it."
Greed: "It's not like you're not interested in her. Besides  . . . it's working."
*Lan Fan squashes flea*
Ling: "You were saying?"
Greed: "Shut up, you little pissant."

Hope everyone likes it

I showed this poem to my Mom--she said she felt sorry for the poor flea!

hahaha omg Greed you charmin shit!
That's perfect also the little dialogue! "It's working" not quite well as it seems :'D
poor little flea but I understand why Lan Fan is annoyed :'D

I love her slight pissed but also interested expression. Like she is annoyed by his attempt to get her to sleep with him. But it also seems like she isn't completely averse to it.
Also Greeds flirty expression is great, I love their facial play!
Ling facepalming because of Greed.

I'm so glad you agree that the poem fits our favourite charming shit!

I was trying to convey that idea for Lan Fan, because, although this is the most terrible seduction technique, you have to give Greed credit for the attempt and for creativity here.   And I thought I had to include Ling's reaction somehow . . .

I'm so happy that the facial expressions came across.

But that's why he's our favourite homunculus. And he has some of the best best lines:

"I have no idea what's going on, but that's one touching reunion (slow clap)"

"Thanks for saving my ass."
"I wasn't saving your ass. I was protecting the body of the Young Lord"
"Well, it's the same ass."

"Goddamnit Ling, WARN me before you take over!"

"I have no idea what's going on, but that's one touching reunion (slow clap)"

Yes I also loved that!

Greed had some of the best quotes!

He certainly did: Both funny and moving--even his end speech . . . .

Why was he so awesome and why did he have to die???  One of the deaths I don't forgive Arakawa for . . .

oh no, don't say it ... not his end speech

And you know what's the worst part? Arakawa was thinking about keeping Greed alive!

          You can't tell me this! You can't tell me she wanted to spare him!! How did you find that out?!

Now I'm even more upset that he died.

One of the Japanese only guidebooks said something about the sins and I found a forum where they translated some lines and that was one of them...
I was also shocked, why couldn#t she keep him alive? :cires:

So was I.

This is not okay--how could he have been one second away from being spared?! Not fair Arakawa!

I know it's not ok..
but maybe it was also important to bring everything to an end

It could have ended with Greed happily ruling Xing with Ling.

Yes! That would have been great but no sin was left Selim was no sin at the and (I guess) so I think she wanted to let everything end what started with Hohenheim. :cires:

I know. It's a lovely circular idea--but my heart still breaks for Greed!
