So, here's the completed version of my Steampunk Ruto for the collaboration at Zelda Dungeon! :3 I had to really tweak the colours here to make her look this nice.
She ended up looking way too pale for the first little while, but I managed to fix the problem in the long run. :3I am quite pleased with how she turned out. I got the idea to loosely base her on a diver of sorts for the redesign, whilst still making her look like Ruto. Initially, she was going to have a full face mask, but I decided against it, because Ruto does have a very expressive and beautiful face. I just couldn't cover it up.
I'm going to be tackling Darunia now (who will be like a steampunk blacksmith) for the second half of my contribution to the collab. :3 So keep an eye out for that!
I may try another character if, and only if, I get Darunia done in a reasonable amount of time...and with Ochi's permission of course (I'm sorry...;w; Inspiration struck me for a third character and I know who I want to do, but I don't want to make a claim just yet in case I can't get it done on time so...).
If not, I may just do that final character just for kicks. XD;

Well, it;s because I was looking for Steampunk Zelda because I'm currently doing a Skyward Steampunk thing and I wanted to know if anyone else had the same idea. And I saw this, clicked on it, saw your name and icon, and was like PHANTOM LINK I LOVE YOU EVEN MORE FOR THIS! XD

I like this piece a lot, and I agree with you about not covering Ruto's face. A lot of her character would have been lost with that, so kudos for that choice. Besides, she is a Sage, so I feel her face is just as important as her appearance--that regal yet young girl look and feel.
Steampunk is a very... interesting choice for a Zora, but it turned out rather nice. Good job with the presentation--Ruto's pose is very appropriate.
You know what would be a really interesting challenge? Midna, just because of her already established style.

Ah, see, I would do Midna, but she's already been claimed by other people. :3 Both forms too, I believe. And I've already snagged myself a challenge, methinks... After Darunia I am going to be tackling the Fierce Deity with the steampunk style, and if I go with the idea I have for that character then well...It's going to take a while to finish I think.
Hahaha! XD If you think steampunk was an interesting choice for a Zora, there is someone in the collaboration who pulled off an awesome Ooccoo design. :3

I just thought of something--could you try making a Twili Zelda and a Hyrulian Midna?! That would be the coolest picture ever. I know you are in the middle of something, but something like that popped into my head, and since I can't draw on that scale yet, I thought I would throw it out there.
Nice snatch on the fierce deity. I feel like that one would be in high demand.
The Darunia choice as a blacksmith fits very well with the Goron people (thinking how the Biggoron is a smith himself). So that will be pretty awesome I am sure. Very badass.

Surprisingly enough, no one had jumped for the Fierce Deity, really. :/ I figure I ought to snag him before someone else did.
I'm working on Darunia now, and he's looking pretty badass so far. :3 I'm quite pleased, especially since I often find Gorons to be somewhat difficult to draw.XD;
And your idea is quite clever. :3 I might try that sometime, methinks, if I get hit with the inspiration to do it.

Yes, Goron anatomy is definitely different. :/ They're also very muscular too, so they are interesting and fun to draw, but at the same time, rather difficult for that very reason. XD

Holy crap yet again.
This has exceeded my expectation of what it would appear like colored. The colors are just perfect, the clash of her blue/aqua with the bronze really works just right together.
Not to mention you did her fins amazingly, The detail you see in them with a close look is impressive, I can tell you spent time and effort on this for sure.
Good choice not putting on the face mask, the goggles are a great choice instead. Plus, your characters faces are always expressive and well angled. I'll also add that her weapon is really creative.
PS, I'm interested to see Darunia, blacksmith is a really neat idea.

Ah, sorry that the greyscale didn't work for you. :3 And I'm sure yours will be just as awesome as whatever else I have seen of your work. <3 I wouldn't worry about how quickly or slowly you work as well. :3 We all complete our art at a different pace, so take all the time you need.
