Beautiful work!
The composition is very nice balanced and I love the impression of being far away as even the trees in the "foreground" are so small. This gives some idea of how large the mountain in the background must be. The clouds in front of the enlightened peak show the level you have climbed up, where you took the photograph.
Finally, this work is impressive without using (much) photoshop what is getting more rare these days.

For some reason this image is like a visual representation of how things seem to be in my life. Everything beautiful always seems to be far away... or be taken away. You end up looking at it from afar, usually behind a slightly grey veil... but it takes nothing away from how beautiful it is. And once the pink light is gone, with every coming evening the world seems like a colder place. Okay, this hardly makes any sense to anyone else but I'm just trying to explain why I stopped staring at this for quite a while. To me, it's heartbreakingly beautiful.

Very nicely done, great light and the "hades" underglow is awsome. The inclusion of the snow-covered hill in the front is a nice touch that provides great contrast to the warm mountain. As a magnificent a mountain as Mt Hood is, there are very few locations that provide good vantage points, there simply are not enough sufficiently tall lookout points that are close enough for really magnificent views. This one looks to be from Zigzag lookout.

I see, I was thinking how in the world you got to Zigzag lookout in the middle of winter. About the only way to get there during the winter is to snowshoe for nearly 6 miles
