Huh, that very interesting. Better name than what we call it. It's odd when you say you love the smell of Rape XD

Yeah, that could be REALLY disturbing when taken out of context!! I think that's why growers and suppliers started calling it canola. Imagine the advertising snafus that would have happened if they'd kept the original name. :-p
It grows wild here in Texas (I don't think it's native though) and attracts huge flocks of butterflies. Plus it gives me an excuse to avoid mowing the lawn once the bluebonnets are done ;-D

Really??!! I can't imagine that, especially with all the lovely heather and wild roses that I've seen in pictures!Β
We get clouds of little yellow ones, not much bigger than your thumbnail, that my 5 year old daughter loves to call "Surprise Butterflies" because they fly up in a ticklish cloud as you walk through the grass. I think their official name is sulphur butterflies, but I prefer her version instead :-D

See now, where you get jealous about the butterflies, I get jealous because y'all (yes, we really say "y'all" here!Β Β ) have such epic history surrounding you. Millennia-old architecture; primeval and medieval castles, ancient aqueducts, cathedrals built on the back of druidic henges that themselves were built on the mounds of Neolithic worship-sites. We don't have anything like that here, aside from a few Native American mounds, but even they aren't as old as some of the castle ruins that grace your land. Someday I would absolutely love to go there, to just close my eyes and smell the smell of time in the crumbling masonry.

I suppose when you grow up around castles and such it becomes normal. If you want castles Wales is full of them. Some more well kept than others, you can get some real ruins

Ahh, Wales. Another place I want to visit. *sigh* OK, yeah, I pretty much want to visit everything from one end of Europe to the other, plus outlying islands. :-D

Just avoid big cities and you will be fine. Wales highly encourages tourists so you will be looked after there XD Only thing going for me is the New Forest thats ten minuets down the road.

Sounds about the same as travel advice when coming here, too XDΒ
New Forest looks lovely. I totally Googled it up just to see what it looks like. Β Β Is the grass always a perfect green carpet there?! It's a sprawling shaggy mess here, if it grows at all.Β
All this talk of photography and landscapes has me itching to take more nature pictures soon. Hee hee!Β Β
