I do have a question... you said you didn't use symbols to do mine, how did you do it then?

I did your's frame-by-frame! For icons that have a lot of action like your's or this one , it would be more trouble than it's worth to try and make symbols that work with all the movement. So I draw each frame. c:

Wow... That must have taken a while. You draw each frame in flash or photoshop?

Lots of people seem to like flash, it must be a pretty good program i take it

I think lots of people like it because it was really the first animation program to let you animate and colour things really easily and then be able to see your animation right away. I know lots of people that hate Flash... They loathe its guts actually. But I like it. X)

Hehe, yea. I like GIMP, mostly because it's free but it's also easier to use then Photoshop and just as powerful. I know a few people who are just the opposite. Same goes for OpenOffice vs the Word suite.
I like a lot of open source software come to think of it...

I've tried GIMP but I guess 'cause I was so used to Photoshop, I didn't like it much. X) That's great that there are programs out there like that though!

LOL
Well, i got lost at the 5th point, lol
By the way, i make my works with Bryce 5.5 or 7, so the only way to make animations i with videos or sequences of bmp pics, i've searched for some program to make GIFs from BMP, but nothing suited my needs, i gave up after trying nearly 10 programes....
Maybe i'll try to search programms to convert videos in GIFs, i think i'll only get ultra-complicated programs, that'll make me give up after the 3rd or 4th program...
However, nice Tutorial

There are a couple of online sites I know of where you can upload separate images and it'll animate a gif for you. Just search "online gif maker" or something. This is a good one: [link] Good luck! 8D

CyberUnitItalia In reply to cgratzlaff [2010-08-31 06:23:59 +0000 UTC]
there's just one problem with those online GIF makers.... to make a smooth animation Bryce renders every single frame, this means that for a nice and smooth animation i can have over 3000 pics...
thus making realy hard uploading pic after pic!
Thx for the help, tho
Maybe i'll try to make animations with less frames/sec

Ah, true. But a gif with that many frames probably won't be very usable on the internet anyway, it would take a long time to load. D: All of my icons are about 30 frames MAX. x)

There's even one that'll turn movies into GIFs, MovietoAniGIF. That's what I used to make the DragonAge stamp I have. That and GIMP.

This is seriously awesome and helpful! O: I always wondered how to use the pivot point properly ^_^
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
cgratzlaff In reply to mintykoneko [2010-08-30 19:16:37 +0000 UTC]
To REALLY use it properly, you have to double click the symbol to go into it, then move your image to where you want the pivot point to be, then double click the background to go out of the symbol and them move your symbol back to where it should be. d: But that's too complicated for what this ends up being. X) That's really only for Flash builds for TV shows and stuff. d:
