NO! This is the result of my October poll of 'What HTTYD art should I do next?' The winner is a resounding 'Astrid/Hiccup' though the poll ends tomorrow. I had this done yesterday I can't keep it to myself anymore.

FYI:
The lack-of-clothes has nothing to do with Astrid's sadness, they're just like that for the double entendre of 'bared' - physically and mentally.

and there's not a lot of 'sad' Astrid art, but she feels too! She's not invincible!

Wow! You did a wonderful job on this one for sure! I love the positioning of the two of them. Its sooo hard sometimes to draw two people interacting like that and you did a fantastic job! This drawing has so much emotion to it and I love the Astrid and Hiccup fluff!! ^___^

I know I already mentioned this, but WOW! I just love this so much. It's just beautifully done. And Hiccup's face reflecting her sadness is so perfectly empathetic of him, he won't be happy if she isn't. The intimate setting is just so perfect since that's really the place we are most vulnerable.

Thanks you so much for helping me decide which one to post. I ended up putting shadows on the 'zing' color one. I love your comment and rings very true I believe with Hiccup's character 'he won't be happy if she isn't.

Btw, this wasn't any particular scene but I had Svenan's death in mind for Astrid's emotions so Hiccup would be sad for her but also still stunned at everything that had happened.Just a behind the scenes FYI

Wow. This is such a beautiful, bitterweet moment you captured between these two. Perfect feet aside (), I love how Astrid is clinging to him as if she wanted him to anchor her. And her back...(I think I may have an obsession with people's backs. Seriously. I think bare back are so beautiful to look at...But, I digress).

Their facial expressions, too, are amazing, from Hiccup looking so...I can't quite put my finger on it. It's something between sad, surprised, hesitant, maybe even a bit lost as to what he should do/say, to Astrid who's simply releasing her feelings on his shoulder...

This is a definite fave. And I would fave it countless times if I could.

I think you summed up EVERYTHING I wanted the viewers to notice True, I love backs too, either form they are so graceful. You listed everything in Hiccup's expression!!! I'd say it boils down to a working melancholy bafflement. Because it would take something near devastating to get Astrid to breakdown, and it wouldn't happen enough for Hiccup to know really what to do, especially if this depiction is the first time he's ever seen her in such a state
