Ah, I feel as if this is one that many people can relate to.
This is awesome. I really like the way you have described it, though... I guess you can look upon this piece as a light-hearted one, but also as a serious, negative one? =/
I prefer it to be light-hearted, anyway. I like how you've just launched straight into the concept and setting the scene, before describing the aftermath of it all with the amputation.. Could be literal or not, either way, it makes for an enjoyable read.

Every student has had that one moment when they really wondered if their hand was permanently damaged from writing too much. Ach, the cramps!
It was pretty much intended to be light-hearted, because I still have all my fingers. I guess there is a bit of negative to it, but really it might just be dark humor...?
And thank you! It's hard to establish cause and effect in just six words but that's the fun part of the challenge!

Yeah, it's that time of year again... Finals, APs, state exams... high school or college, everyone has big exams coming up.

haha, trust me, it is. It's amazing how much you can write in exam conditions. In my last one I wrote 5 pages, but that did include my writing becoming more spaced out and crossing out

I find that I can't write in an exam. Partially because exam papers are about boring things and partially because when I take an exam all I can think is, "Twenty more minutes and I go home. Now ten. Now five... c'mon..." through the whoooole test.
At home, though, I can type a three page paper (double space, of course) in under an hour and barely need to proof it. XD
We'll share it then!

I know, it's the worst thing to look at the clock during an exam. You just have to remain focused on the paper, and time actually seems to slow down.
