Description **Please note some of these colours might seem innaccurate due to my poor scanner**

Just thought I would share some of my favourite Copic marker colour combos I use for my sketch cards. Included are some colours I use for skin tones and many of the effects you see in some of my cards.

I have approx 160 colours in my collection at the moment and they are alot of fun to use and experiment with. The colours are vibrant and you can make some really cool effects with a bit of practice

As a first time user of Copic Markers it can seem a bit daunting trying to pick colours to start with. Some colours work better with some than others. I have searched for all sorts of resources on the web but I dont always find that I agree with other peoples choices. It comes down to experimentation. Also the type of paper can greatly affect the appearances of colour.

If you plan to make full use of colour, be prepared to buy lots of markers. Make your own colour chart on the same paper you will use for drawing and take your time mixing and matching colours. Be sure to write down the combinations that work for easy reference in the future. That is a lesson I learned the hard way.

Yeah I find its a good idea to write them down, otherwise you might find a great combo, then forget it next time you go to colour.

that is legitimately helpful advice, thank you. I was playing around with markers for a while, but they're so darned expensive I never got to play with the full range, sad really.

Yes its not an easy choice using full colour. But even if you use just tone or limited colour sometimes you can get some amazing results.

that's also very true! I've wanted to pick it back up again and try some monochrome stuff, that's always really nice looking if done right
