I think that's alot better than the first one you had. Something to remember is that when an object is cntered, it has less interest than when it is off-center, more towards a corner.
I could almost see this as a desktop or something now...

Well, I personally have issues with the photo quality (just the lighting, which I have no cluw how in the world you would fix)...but that's just me, and since I don't know how to improve it since it contradicts itself, I didn't know what else to say...

Like think about the placement of the candle (usually when I say 'composition' I mean where things are placed/where your attention is drawn).

N'kay.
Actually, I was thinking of redoing this. Originally, I didn't want it in sharp focus because hope generally isan't clearly defined (you hope things get better, not always in specific ways).
But, I don't know. I'm not real happy with it. Maybe if I was a better photographer, I could get the pics to look like what I see.

Try putting the candle even more off-center, more towards the right corner or some such...I like it out of focus too - keep it that way...
