Thank you Suzana. I did this little painting several years ago in 1983 I think and for several years it was with the art collector who acquired it from me. Sadly he died of cancer last year and his widow got in touch and asked if I would like them back as it was her late husband's request. There are two more like paintings in the series. I see you like animals. You have some wonderful paintings in your gallery. May I had you as my friend?

Thanks. I was going to call it "Sorrow" but I recall Vincent's picture of the same name so went of "Repose". However, I agree it is not a suitable title.

One thing's for sure. The model won't look like that anymore. But that's the power of a painting. It has a way of keeping you young.

I have changed my style; always trying to paint faster. This and the other two paintings of that period were done in the style of the old masters; in glaze after glaze... very time consuming but worth it.

Yeah, it brought back a lot of memories when I got this and the other two paintings recently returned as part of some one's Will who died recently of cancer. He sadly had no one else to leave them to. But they gave him 24 years of pleasure so that wasn't a bad thing.
