Iris, or F637, wears her winter uniform with pride. It's nothing more than a pair of sleeves and a clear vinyl skirt worn over the breast baring tiny dress she's worn for eighteen months, but it sets her apart. It indicates privilege earned through months of hard work and obedience, and of avoiding extra punishments-- other than those meted out randomly or as a group.

The extra pieces don't protect Iris much from the cold. And like all the others, her tits are still on display. But when every prisoner wears the same uniform meant to humiliate, that uniform loses its power to humiliate. Give a girl a little extra and you remind her and everyone else of what is still exposed. Control is maintained.

It may just be a form of Stockholm Syndrome, but Iris also carries a sense of pride for F Block, her home unit at Complex 18A. She keeps her cell clean and makes sure the buckets get emptied. Iris encourages obedience in her block mates and earns respect by looking after them.

On one occasion, she risked extra discipline by standing beside one of the "kennel cells" inside F Block where girls are locked up for days, especially in winter when it's too cold out for the cages or boxes. F641 (Amy) had been locked in cell F3 for 108 hours. She was only supposed to be there for 99 hours. After a guard confronted Iris, he ordered Amy removed from the cell and cleaned up. Iris got a whipping of ten strokes to her ass, but it was worth it.
