Yeah, I don't think giving her that much power would be a good idea. She has a tenuous enough grasp on sanity as it is - giving her alicorn powers would create something like a "female" Discord. Wings? Sure. (She had them in the original treatment of the show.) Unicorn horn? Not a problem. Just not both at the same time.
